Hopkins team suggested retirement for Hopkins due to the way he lost

So before we go further you think Hopkins who turned pro inside CW was of a similar natural size to former WW champ Trinidad or former SFW champ De La Hoya :patsch
Yeah says it all. Calzaghe beat fighters his own size

No need to piggy back on anything when Hopkins, Jones, Eubank are on your list of victims :deal

Calzaghe straight up refused to give Hopkins a rematch, a fight in which most of the British media thought Hopkins won. That's all you need to know about why he ran away retired, he knew he would likely lose the rematch.

Most of the British media didnt think that at all, but interestingly a writer who did score for Hopkins got a poll of 9 experts together, I recall one being M Steward and think another was Saad Muhamed, but either way all of the experts scored for Calzaghe and Steward couldnt see what the contraversy was.
Also as for the rematch there was no demand for the fight as it was ano show and only when Calzaghe had beaten Jones which was his last fight and Hopkins beaten Pavlik that Hopkins team mentioned about it and Hopkins backed out against Calzaghe years previously. Karma

So what does that tell you? That you don't have to be some unbeatable, all time great to beat a man in his forties, let alone get dropped by him, scrape a highly debatable split decision and then refuse a rematch.

Ignorance is terrible. Do you only focus on divisions that fighters from your own country have champs in?

No you dont have to be an ATG, but its good that Calzaghe was and was able to give back the same treatment of not being given the fight years previously after winning.
Hopkins lost the chance of a rematch with his looking for time out I think

Dude you're a habitual liar Hopkins did not turn pro at Cruiser weight. If Hopkins wasn't around Trinidad would have became undisputed middle weight champ and you know it. He was knocking everybody out before he ran into Hopkins. Its funny how you bring up Trinidad but fail to mention that Hopkins jumped 2 weight classes to fight much younger and bigger opponent. You guys also like to use this weight excuse when Hatton comes up "oh Floyd didn't beat him at his best weight of 140" as if it actually mattered. What you fool like to forget is that Floyd started his career at feather weight and have continued to do so.

Its good that you have dedicated you life to preserving the boxing memory of Joe Calzaghe whom no gives a **** about except for you tards on the island, but please don't try to do it off of the accomplishments of Hopkins. Joe did not fight Shumenov last night Hopkins did. You can however find a Calzaghe video on youtube and jack off to it.

Many fighters would fall short in terms of Leonards career, not sure why you compared those, but unlike Leonard, Calzaghe was never having to score late KOs when behind, never having to get rivals to boil down to his weight and also NEVER LOST

Leonard was in with quality opposition, that's the difference. Benitez, Hagler, Duranx2, Hearnsx2. That completely shits on ANYTHING Joe accomplished, pristine 46-0 or not. Maybe if Joe was interested in tough fights we would have found out if he had it in him to rally to stop a HOF'er late or not. Joe had a family to feed, an agenda to retire undefeated and a fear of flying, so I guess we will never know.

It is greater than what many have accomplished and you have had to go as deep as Leonard to compare that to Calzaghe, which tells me more than it tells you, but still what you cannot dispute is Calzaghe never had to score a late KO to pull it out of the bag, drain an opponent to their weight and never lost.
