The only loss Kovalev can take right now is from Boxing POLITICS

For those unbiased few in the boxing world, Kovalev is clearly the #1 LHW in the world. Stevenson follows him closely, but he is running out of time to prove himself.

It's painfully obvious that Sergey just wants to fight for the recognition of being the best. That's why it's so sad that he's being screwed over by the politics of the sport. Hopkins will never fight him. Stevenson is looking for paydays and then MIGHT take his medicine, but it will be a diminished win.

Kovalev is THE guy right now, and casuals wont realize for a while :-(

Kovalev is up a creek without a paddle.
He is not a victim of politics. He is right where his management advised him to be.

Mayweather told slave Pac if he wanted to fight, then dump his crappy manager and begin talks. Pac refused, thus, no fight and no big payday.

BHOP wanted to fight Kovalev but Kovalev management took him to Cleverly instead. Hopkins says he ain't mad at him. It was a smart move to go to the path of least resistance.
BHOP says he would still fight Kovalev, but Kovalev has to cross the street first.
If Kovalev wants to fight Stevenson, he'll need to cross the street also.

I'd advise Kovalev to stay busy and make a fight with Shumenov for his title defence.

In the Shumenov post fight interview, Schaefer and Bernard both clearly emphasized that Kovalev is free to walk on his side of the street. Actually he's lucky to have contracts with HBO and Main Events alongside so the problema is just build the fights and I'm sure there will be many guys tryin to get a shot at his title and he can build up his winning streak as a WBO titlist when another titlist proposes a bigger fight. Hey, nobody here deslikes Kovalev or Kathy Duva or Max Kellerman.

Mayweather said a lot of other thing to justify why he would not fight Pac. "My health is important", "Pac need to do drugs test", "The purse has to be...", it is not just one thing, but many. When their is accumulation of excuses, it just makes it more obvious that it is a duck. Meaning that any reason is good to justify that you just don't want to fight that particular fighter.

I like Kovalev, but this is absurd.

You're the maggot who said Hopkins is piggy backing off his name. aren't you? :rofl

In my personal opinion, Kovalev is right up there along with Stevenson and Hopkins, experts really very undecided who is deserdful of being ranked amongst the others. I feel that Hopkins having his legacy but also having lost to Dawson who lost to Stevenson like he did puts him behind Stevenson but Kovalev is not to be measured by the same yardstick and therefore he can be either under Hopkins or even above Stevenson. What happens is that the guy who takes the major titles and the lineal championship will deserve to be ranked above any others and if this man happen to fight Kovalev then all will clear out. It will not take long like in the process of the LHW unification in the 80s or HWs with Mike Tyson facing Michael Spinks in 88 and in Trump Plaza, AC.

According to Sergey Hopkins was taking to long to sign the contract so instead of being fightless they went ahead and fought cleverly

Golovkin is in a similar position. His next big fight with Chavez Jr is about to get ruined by Al Hayman.

ATG Marquez just chose to fight Provodnikov's KO victim rather than Provo himself.

Seems like a certain clade of fighters in the sport are intentionally being avoided/phased out because they are upsetting the status quo. I am sure the anti-doping agencies are constantly at their doors as well. Yet, not so much when it comes to testing the status quo.

Stevenson is 50/50 , but hopkins would get ktfo and from watching him yesterday I got to tell you, Kovalev knocks him out pretty early.

I'm honestly curious of your response.
