If Porter beats Brook and Thurman, he'll be a good choice for a Floyd opponent. But who wins?

If Pac can drop Porter during a sparring session, then Floyd would 12-0 him.

Now, I'd favor Floyd over Porter.

But because Pacquiao(small, explosive southpaw) can hit Porter, Floyd can 12-0 him?

Honestly, Canelo is proving he's a badass by taking on the perceived best in the division. Floyd needs to follow suit or else risk looking like a *****. Props to Floyd for the Canelo fight. Its okay if he takes a soft touch in the next one, but if his next opponent isn't a young badass the fraud-ducker **** is going to start up all over again.

The bolded part is ridiculous, especially when you realize you're talking about an ATG who has won 4 lineal titles (tied with Pacman for the most.)

So everytime a fighter has a very good win, immediately they're spoken about as a potential Mayweather opponent and if he doesn't fight them than he's clearly scared shitless of them?

Sorry, but that's not how it works when you try to get a fight with the #1 P4P fighter. You have to have a long standing run as a dominant fighter to be mentioned as an opponent IMO.

People give FLoyd crap all the time for his matchmaking since he became a WW, but who exactly has he taken on that's a tomato can?

Since fighting Oscar Delahoya in 2007, FLoyd has had 8 fights with 5 of those guys being sure fire HALL OF FAMERS. I'm talking about DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Marquez, Mosley. WHo knows how Alvarez' career will end up, if he beats Lara and continues winning, than he might be in the HOF some day.

SO a guy who has had 8 fights since May 2007 with 5 of them against first ballot HOF'ers (Hatton is iffy,) is somehow still being criticized for "avoiding" fighters. I can't understand that logic, especially when you factor in that Floyd is a small WW.

I agree with most of your points I`m just having a good time. I`m not interested in giving any fighter a free pass. If he fights Amir Khan next he`s a *****. Simple as that. If he fights a puffed up LWW. That is okay but is part for the course. The big knock on floyd at WW has always been that he`s never fought a true sized ww that would impose his size on floyd. The larger fighters that he`s fought haven`t had the style or the natural pre-disposition to fighting that way.

The people who say Floyd will duck Porter are simply reading that pattern. Not disrespecting the things that he`s actually done.

There was an interview a couple of years ago that I watched with a british fighter (I think it was one of the Smith brothers) where the guy stated that part of being a professional fighter is knowing exactly how to beat themselves and what there weaknesses are. If you look at Floyds career you can see that he`s obviously figured out what that is. If you look at a guy like Hopkins he also knows what his weakness is but he`s always been much more willing to test himself against it. I give him more respect for that.

Porter sparred with manny in 2009. He got left a good impression.. of course he got the worst of it. He was a kid then.

Porter has got the goods. He's skilled and savage. He's tim Bradley with real punching power.

So many good fights out there for this guy.
Brook, Thurman, Khan, Garcia, Broner, or Maidana.

Win two of the fights and he's getting Floyd Mayweather. I like his chances in another year.
