I'd favor him over any of those guys as well. But Canelo is a full-fledged JMW at this point in his career. If he met them at a CW, I'd have him the favorite over all those guys . I think Pacman is the only one who could possibly have a chance, but he'd have to move around the ring like he did 5 years ago. This version of Pacman who has slowed down considerably probably wouldn't be able to do that.

 

Canelo knock Pac ass out. Manny would look like a child next to Canelo.

 

^Canelo's not really the tallest JMW (I think he's 5 "7,) but I do agree there would be a significant size disparity if the fight were to be made at 154 lbs. The size difference would be very clear with both men inside the ring.

I favor ALvarez because he's the much bigger guy and I actually think he has better boxing skills than Pacman on a basic, fundamental level. He's also a very good and sneaky counterpuncher who has put guys much bigger than Pacman on the ground.

If Manny could run around the ring and just dart inside the pocket for a few brief moments to unload on some combination punching than jump out of the pocket, he could make it interesting.

But I'd have to favor Alvarez at least 65-35 in that matchup. As you put it, it could very well end up being a KO.

Any WW would beat a drained 154 version of Canelo. They would easily beat the drained 152 version as well.

 

At 147lbs Canelo will be a mummy. And no, he won't beat any WW at that weight.
