Should Sergey Kovalev at this point stay with Main Events/HBO? at this point there seems to be next to no options that can really boost his pockets and legacy

Hopkins/Stevenson is at Showtime, Pascal looks to be on his way as well, even Dawson just signed wtih Haymon, Ward probably isnt moving up and is having contract issues. At this point his only realistic option that would generate some type of buzz is Bute and no telling where his head is at

That said what should Kovalev do?

If he plans to stay at 175 then he probably should all his comp is at Showtime. Ward isn't moving up so who else is there to fight?

There's no guarantee that he would get the fights he wanted if he switched.

No. He can make good money beating up overmatched opponents on HBO. The landscape can change pretty quickly as well. New and deserving challengers always rise. Unless Main Events is screwing him over, I don't see why he would leave them.

He should stay with Kathy Duva and Main Events who have done an excellent job with him.

He should be free to fight on TV anywhere though: HBO, Showtime, ESPN network, Russia Sports 1, etc.

Who did Hopkins show reluctance to fighting in the past?

He practically fought them all, why do you people insinuate such things?
As a matter of fact, he's fought and beat better LHW's lately, than Kovalev.

Contrary to popular opinion, Andre Ward will move up.
Ward has wanted to move up for some time now. Once he does, Ward will be the man at LHW and dominate as strong as he did SMW.
Once he settles his remaining obligation with Goosen, unless comes real strong like a real playa, Ward will be with Haymon also.

If Kovalev sticks with HBO he will become like Lucien Bute watching the S6 from the sidelines.

The more I look at the matchup, the more I realize that Kovalev is probably an easier fight for Hopkins than Stevenson.

It wouldn't be easy, don't get it twisted, but stylistically I see him squaring off against Kovalev much more efficiently than against Adonis.

He didn't want to fight Dawson and he flat out said he wouldn't fight Ward, yet he calls out Floyd. lol
