He hasnt learnt anything in the last three years no improvement whatsoever, in fact hes gone backwards. I like Crolla but Saturday night wasnt about him being good John Murray is very average and shopworn with no defence and very poor accuracy. I would pick Burns to beat Crolla easy but to be fair to Ant hes an entertaining fighter.
Sounds very Punchy now to me , enoughs enough imo time to walk away and preserve his health as hes already had 1 scare
I think so mate and hes not improved at all inm three years. Taking the fight with Crolla was silly when you think of how long it was since hed done the 12 rounds how active Crolla has been in the last two and a half years. Murray again just had the mentality that he was going to walk trhough Crolla like he had done Buckland etc a few years ago.
Agreed mate its clear as day he cant go into the late rounds as he was Gassed past 6 and was the same against Mitchell and Rios , Stamina seems a real issue after hes blown himself out in the first 4/5 rounds , Not sure a move up to LWW would do any good as hes taken to many blows imho
To be honest i can see why Joe turned down fights John wanted there seems to be no thought behind his actions. Surley after two years out you wouldnt jump straight into a 12 rounder with a rival in a highly charged emotional fight when you havent done the distance since March 2011. He should of built himself up slowly there was no rush hes 29
Agreed, he takes way to many shots... He's also fights using a young mans style, retirement really is the only option for me I think the Rio fight really took a lot away from him, when he gets beaten he gets severely beaten... That's 3 brutal hammerings he has taken and he's has not even adapted his style after any of the prev 2 Def time to get out
To be fair to Murray he was ahead on 2 scorecards at the time of the stoppage. Maybe if he had a better gameplan and paced himself better he could have won. In my opinion there is no need to retire as there are a lot of good domestic match ups for him in the LW division. Murray vs Flanagan could be a good fight and would probably sell a decent amount of tickets considering they're both from Manchester.
Probably too late to change his style that's the way he fights, he put's too much into the first half of a fight, he does need to try and pace it better but again it's probably too late and he's been bashed up quite bad in his last few fights .
Flannegan would beat him quite easily if he could withstand the pressure Murray would bring in the first foud, in fact id pick Flannegan to win by stoppage.
I reckon it would be a good 50/50 scrap but I definitely wouldn't pick Flanagan to stop him. Couldn't see Murray getting stopped by a guy with 7 ko's in 23 wins.
