The guy is great for the sport, especially as he's aged.

Too bad his best win in his comeback will be Joey ABell, and while that's fine for a stay busy fight or a resume booster for a young contender, it aint enough to warrant a 42 yo with a history of can crushing a 3rd opportunity.


Vaughn Bean, much like Briggs, got a couple title shots crushing the Mireles's and Mo Smith's of the 90s.

But unlike Briggs in this era, there was trouble getting the 4 titlists to fight one another on a consistent basis, and being 4 titlists, top contenders were spread out, whereas during the K2 era, you had 2 titlists, Vitali and Wladimir to divide the challenges.

I think in a few yrs, when Wlad is gone, the 4 belts are strewn across the globe, guys like Briggs will have plenty of opportunity for title shots.:think

 

No way Wilder's ppl let that happen.

Briggs may be a little on the slow side, but he's got the one thing almost all big US HW's have, a long stiff jab, and Wilder would be rocked by it early and often.....and first time he covered up.......Briggs would swarm him and knock him all over the ring.:yep

 

Briggs is desperate for a payday. The guy needs to go away.

Mormeck got a title shot after getting a gift over Timur Ibragimov and not fighting for 15 months

Wach got a title shot after beating an obese McBride and Tye FIelds

it's not that hard these days, especially when people like Fury or Pulev constantly claimed they're not ready, you just have to be in the top 50 and beat a top 100 HW

 

can anybody even understand what briggs is saying?

 

Give him a title shot, cause he is in shape...

Wach got his shot b/c of his size and the way he handled McBride and Fields. It was more of good timing by team Wach. Wlad was waiting on Potvetkin to make up his mind and needed a fall opponent.

Mormeck fought two close fights with rated guys in Tiggy and Oquendo and schooled a the King of the Clubbies, Maddalone.

Not a bad HW resume considering Mormeck's size.

Also, Mormeck was huge star at CW where he beat a who's who of the division and nearly had Haye KOd. Yeah, the tide turned and Mormeck got stopped, but it was really a 50/50 fight.

Not saying Mormeck was a great fight for Wlad to take.....Adamek, Huck, or Banks woulda been better if he was forced to fight another former CW titlist.

Also, Wlad went down the list as he always does, starting at #3 (Vitali was #2) and finally found Wach and Mormeck ready to make it happen.:think


Both wach and Mormeck had better wins to earn a shot than Briggs did to earn his shot vs Vitali.:yep:yep

 

out of curiosity i just checked who Briggs beat to earn a shot at Vitali, and almost fell out of my chair

Wach actually has a very good promoter, who in just 2 years managed to get Wach from fighting on undercards in Europe to a world title fight, it's a shame Wach treated him the way he did and is now making a living as a sparring partner with the criminal Ivailo Gocew as his manager/advisor

 

Briggs has been carrying on with this nonsense since the Klitschko/Brock post fight presser. Klitschko should tell him what he told Haye when he came begging for a fight.....get in the line!
