I wonder why Marquez doesn't want another fight with Floyd? He definitely wanted a rematch with Bradley ??

    Pretty simple.

He felt he beat Tim. He knew he lost to Floyd.

IMO, JMM should stay where he is.

All else being equal (which it rarely is), I think you should have to beat someone ABOVE you to move up.

OR, someone above you needs to lose for them to move down.

Neither of these things have happened.

Porter was inserted into the Welter wt rankings on Dec 10 last, BELOW Marquez.

Since then, Marquez has not lost to anyone, nor has Porter beaten a welter weight boxer who was ranked higher than himself or Marquez.

Therefore, I see no real case for even giving the matter consideration.

He could be placed anywhere from 5 to 7. I think his current 6 is fair.

Obviously the Marquez vs. Alvarado outcome - either way - is going to spare us all the bother of splitting them.

Porter's half dozen solid names at WW can't touch a kayo of Pacquiao & comfortable defeat of Alvarado.

However, a loss to Alvarado drops Marquez to 1-4 in the division and I'm not sure even the mighty Pacquiao kayo alone can offset those four losses and stand up to Porter's work.

Ruling - he stays where he is. ESB agrees.

I'm protesting. The question in the poll as well as the opening post are not clear. Another thread and poll needs to be started.

It was probably this in the poll that baffled him:

Yes, Porter should move to #4, JMM to #4

    and this in post 1:

So my question is - should this win result in Porter's moving above Marquez to #4? Or should Porter remain at #4?
