Yeah right? Its good to know that if I ever needed random crap to spew at someone, I can come here for good material.
the fact that bums like Arreola, Peter, Sanders, etc are considered his "greatest" wins are a testament to the weak era and farce of Vitali's career. You mention that there are top 10 guys. Whoop de doo Tyson Fury is a top 10 heavyweight too. You think beating him is going to make someone a special heavyweight? No amount of reciting rankings/statistics/W-L records without context like a parrot will deny the irrefutable fact that Vitali never beat an elite boxer in his life. The ONLY time he fought a semi-legit opponent (38 year old worst shape of his life Lennox Lewis) he got completely dismantled after a decent start. That alone has exposed the smoke and mirrors around the farce of Vitali's career. Wladimir - well he lost to 3 C level bums in brutal fashion so we don't even need to discuss that farce of a heavyweight
Holyfield's prime is tough to pin down from the moment he lost to michael Moorer he became inconsistent. The best Holyfield is probably 90-94 run. Vitali was just entering his prime when injuries forced a four year layoff, after he returned he still dominated but was a little more stiff. I pick Vitali by close UD. As another poster wrote Holyfield is 1-4 against the two super heavies he fought and his one win is razor thin and debatable.
Dominate? What did he dominate? He only fought bottom feeding WBC rankers while his brother fought the rest of the division. How is that dominating anything? What was his best win, Sam Peter? Helenius annihilated Peters is brutal fashion. Does he beat Holyfield tooatsch
Lennox Lewis was knocked out in two rounds by a crackhead who landed his punch with his eyes closed. Riddick Bowe while talented totally abused his gifts with his lack of dedication.
When Helenius stopped Peter he already had three brutal matches with the Klitschko's on his tires. Fighters do tend to wear out after hard fights. A prime Holyfield would defeat all of Vitali's opponents as well, I am basing my judgement off the fact Holyfield struggled larger heavyweights such as Foreman, Lewis and Bowe. None of which are as big as Vitali. Holyfield would have to work exceedingly hard in this fight to win. I choose Vitali.
It was the same slow crude Sam Peter Wlad and Vitali fought. No different. Holyfield would beat all of Vitalis oppponents but Vitali would not beat all the guys Holy beat like Tyson, Mercer and Bowe. Holy past prime gave prime Lewis a very close fight. Prime Vitali got knocked off in 6 by a past prime Lewis. I choose top 10 ATG Holyfield.
You are talking to a guy who claims Fury as the top HW in the World. He inherited the spot after Povetkin won a DQ over Wlad in Dino's World. Dino thinks so little of Wlad, that Povetkin beating him by DQ actually dropped him from his #1.
and what does that say about Vitali, getting stopped by a 38 year old worst shape of his life boxer that got stopped by this crackhead
Working backwards, I'm not sure how being up 4-2 vs Lewis is an exposure, especially if you know the fact that Vitali took the fight on less than 2 weeks notice! Quite the opposite. As for legacy, Holy beat a post prison Tyson, and carried older men in Holmes and Foreman, while getting cut by Holmes. He lost to the best he fought ( Lewis and Bowe ), and was 1-1 with Moorer. The fact that Vitali makes it look easy, even being 37+ and taking 4 years off on the game is a simply amazing. Meanwhile your guy could even finish or separate himself from John Ruiz in three fights at the same age. Vitali did not make his legacy on washed up names. He was supposed to fight Tyson, but Williams defeated him. Lewis of course did not want the re-match.
How Vitali would have fared against the Holyfield opponents you mentioned is pure conjecture and speculation on your part. Many people would choose Vitali to win those fights as well. As for the Lewis analysis Holyfield was not that competitive in the first fight despite the gift draw and both fights were not overly exciting. Vitali on the other hand fought an exciting fight against Lewis was ahead on the cards and stopped on a bad cut. Hardly anything to hang your head in shame over. He retired Lewis.
