    :good

thing is, hbo now seems to be into buying the best fights available.

showtime meanwhile is showing fights gbp gives them...some good, a lot of it are bad.

well...that was supposed to have been a build up for the ppv of kovalev-stevenson.

same way with cotto redemption against rodriguez for a ppv fight with sergio.

...but you can see/read of many perceived mismatch fights that hbo has rejected offered by ward, donaire...

Let's see Mayweather, DLH, Chavez Jr, Mikey Garcia ... guys with big enough names to go against Arum. And the cold war was started by Golden Boy? :patsch You're looking at the symptoms not the cause. If my previous employer tried to screw me over, you're darn right I'm not going to play nice with him.

What's the problem with moving to a network that is willing to pay you more for your services? ANY of us would do the same thing.

Well, HBO was also prepared to televise Stevenson-Fonfara, for the same reason. They're not above televising lambs being led to slaughter, in much the same way that Showtime seems happy to televise Broner's impending evisceration of Carlos Molina.

It should be noted that some matches that appear good turn out to be ****, and vice versa. Figueroa had an all out war with Arikawa last year. Bradley-Provo was also poorly regarded, but turned out to be FOTY. Let's see the fights unfold before we pass final judgement.

Shhhh!!!! You can't talk rationally when dealing with *******s who will defend Arum to the death even if he's robbing their hero blind.

you still have to agree that hbo is buying the better fights from different promoters while showtime is only buying whatever gbp sells.

So, isht fights are okay as long as they are supposed to lead to better fights, eh?

Using this logic, Stevenson, Matthysse and Broner should be off the 'isht' list, since those fights are all probably leading to more competitive PPV or main event opportunities.

If the bigger fight is already agreed then yeah I'd put up with the shitty fight, the shitty fights are used to hype the bigger fights anyway.

if Broner vs Matthysse was already agreed I'd happily look forward to & watch next weeks card.

Not surprisingly, the point zoomed right over your head.

    Again, no surprise there.
