Nah...not saying that Floyd wouldn't have completely neutralised ''Nelo anyway, but you can't rely on how thes guys look..at Canelos age the impact of massive rehydration might not be as stark, but it'll undeniably still be there...

In effect what you end up getting (and this isn't a criticism of any particular fighter, but of previous day weigh ins - which have now turned into a big part of fight build up) is guys who are fighting one or two classes below where they belong, but are also never at 100% due to having stressed their bodies to make weight.

I guess a lotta guys figure the extra size is worth the penalty (and more sadly the long term health damage) and typically it's a strategy you find amongst tough but perhaps limited punchers - Rios, JCC jr, Alvarado, Quillin, JLL...dammit I could go through the weightclasses - but there ain't many fighters who are considered elite who look for excessive weight advantage.

margo and pac both were fighting at 147.....they fought at 150.

cotto went down/drained 1 pound from his last weigh in to fight pac.

what i find hilarious is that floyd and you/*****s were all in the hate mode on catchweight when pac fought cotto. "uh...uh...cotto didn't really lose to pacquiao because he fought him at catchweight."

then when floyd was fighting canelo at catchweight, cat got all them *****s tongue.... and now i see *****s posting that fight is floyd's best fight ever.

On fight night canelo would probably weight the same if the fight was at 154

Can't knock canelo at all, he was trying for the full 12 rounds.

The funny thing is people make a huge issue that he had to weigh in 1 lb less than he did in his previous fight with Trout, but the irony is Canelo actually looked like he had better stamina against Floyd than he did vs Trout when he was clearly gassed in the latter rounds. His stamina was much better in the FLoyd fight, probably in part from his training at Big Bear.

Canelo is more of a boxer-puncher and I think people thought he was going to come out of his comfort zone and try to brawl with FLoyd and outmuscle him on the inside.

Once I saw how Canelo was trying to outbox Floyd from a distance in the 1st 3 rounds, I knew he had no shot whatsoever.

It was a terrible gameplan on his teams part to try and outbox Mayweather, but that's the kind of style Canelo has. He's a cerebral guy in the ring that would rather counter punch a guy than come at him in an aggressive manner.

His strategy obviously didn't work at all and it was almost as dumb as Tim Bradley trying to look for the 1 punch KO with Pacman considering Bradley only has 12 KO's in over 30 pro fights. Just dumb gameplans.

Why do people talk about floyd and pac not rehydrating as some kind of huge advantage?

Did you all forget when floyd starved himself for like 4-5 days before a fight to make weight back in the day?
    Same with pac.

These two dominate with or without rehydrating.

Canelo looked like a cast member of "The Walking Dead".

The dude was drained to the bone.

Plus it was a catchweight fight and according to Floyd those dont count.

As far as me and Floyd are concerned Canelo is still an undefeated fighter.

Notice Pac's personal dick sucker dodong didn't mention anything about Oscar? Pacquiao forced an Oscar who hadn't fought at 147 in over half a decade to kill himself making 147, while Floyd fought a better Oscar at 154. That should tell you all you need to know about those two :good

Well nobody gives a **** about your opinion for one. An utter ******* like you has NO right to be complaining about catchweights. Canelo OFFERED to go down to 150, Floyd gave him 152. Pacquiao on the other hand forcibly drains fighters, AND uses rehydration clauses, big ****ing difference. Canelo weighed in at 153 the previous fight, so he had to cut one more pound... big ****ing difference between that and draining a guy like DLH 7 pounds, when he hadn't fought at 147 in half a ****ing decade.

    See how stupid you are?

Your gay ass gives a **** otherwise you wouldnt reply to it with that pathetic"Leave Floyd Alone" rant. :deal:deal

Canelo looked like a member of the Walking dead.

Floyd" I want my opponents to be comfortable and their best weights, as far as i am concerned catchweights dont count."

Canelo still undefeated deal with it groupie.:deal

:blood....pacquiao didn't force oscar to do anything.

oscar offered 147, his promoter asked pacquiao if he wants to fight oscar at 147...pac said ok.

So you're going to conveniently brush under the carpet that cotto at 145 and Canelo at 152 was both 1lb less than what they weighed in at their previous fight?

Before the fight I said that Canelo would get thoroughly out boxed ..If a guy like Marquez couldn't land a punch on Floyd what would Canelo do ? Oh wait he got shut out as expected now all of a sudden Floyd's defense is amazing :rofl:rofl:rofl

I think the point Green Man was trying to make is that by Mayweather's own logic his win over Canelo doesn't count, and thus he is still undefeated. Floyd flatly said (on more than one occasion) that he considered Cotto to be an undefeated fighter as Margarito was cheating, and he was drained against Pac.

Cotto weighed in at 146 the previous fight, so he had to cut one more pound…

I hope you're as hard on Floyd for planning to rematch Oscar at 147 as you are at Manny.

You obviously do otherwise you wouldnt be replying to it.

Butthurt ***gots like you spend years complaining about Pac's catchweights but once Floyd does it then all of a sudden their cool and accepted, hypocritical ******.

He offered to go to 150 cause he wanted the fight to happen and the only way Floyd would fight him was if he knew Canelo would be at a disadvantage so he accepted 152. Two 154 champions unifying the titles at a catchweight is a ****ing disgrace, the proof that Canelo was drained other than how he look on fight night was the fact that he couldnt even make 154 in his next fight.

The irony coming from a known Floyd Groupie.

Now you just making **** up, typical ***** move.
Show me proof of that of Feck off.

Same situation with Cotto when Pac fought him the difference is that with Pac you cry like a woman on her period when its Floyd its cool, See how stupid you are?

This right here shows how little you know about the sport. Oscar was the biggest star in boxing nobody least of all Pac was in any position to make demands to Oscar, Oscar called the shots, he cherrypicked on a guy fighting three divisions bellow him and that cherrypick backfired and he got his ass whooped.
