Yeah I think Pac gets torched by Canelo. Hes essentially a bigger faster younger JMM. Which is one of the reasons Floyd had an easy time with him, and the main reason why Pac wouldnt.

I wish the n--ga would retire and just enjoy his remaining years instead of trying to ruin the sport we all love.

He would be forgiven by the boxing community for all his dirt and wrongdoings if he shut down Top Rank and bypassed all their contracts so that the fans could get the fights they want. I honestly wouldnt mind GBP as the top and only major promo in boxing. Oscar loves the fight game. Its more than just business. Thats what separates him and that anal bead Arum. Oscar with all his flaws, drugs, cross-dressing etc. still gave his life to boxing and dared to be great. He took the wins, the losses and gave blood sweat and tears to the sport. The fact that he wants to reconcile with Arum for the sake of boxing is proof. Because in all honesty he doesnt need Arum. Golden Boy has 2 legit money making PPV stars in Floyd and Canelo who will sell no matter who their up against and a strong crop of upcoming talent. Who never complain about getting cheat out of money. they are all loyal and respect him because hes not just some corp in suit, hes laced em up and took the shots himself. Oscar's doing good. That just proves that him trying to make peace with Arum is pure and really for the fans and the love of the sport. Gotta love the Golden Boy. Arum is just thinking financially. Dude could give a F--K about the sport we all love.

Alvarez is not the biggest opponent Pac will have faced. He's shorter and has less reach than Margarito. He will probably weigh the same or similar come fight night too.

Margarito and Canelo are two different fighters.

Cheato was shopworn and came off a loss to Cotto and Mosley and has just gotten back his license. Margarito without wraps was a very limited plodder with little punch variation.

Canelo on the other hand, will be the fastest fighter Pac had fought ever, and will have a size, and IQ advantage. I think Canelos all wrong for Pac.

Hes essentially a bigger, faster, younger, stronger version of Marquez. Which is the main reason FMJ handled him the way he did, and the main reason Pac would have trouble.

Haha, the cold war is still on.

Oscar was just talking smack but Schaefer says he would never work with Arum again. He says he's glad that MGMs CEO released that memo to MGM employees calling Arum a bully and Oscar is confused because he's going through recovery.
So it looks like with Garcia and Chavez suing to be released from their contracts and Bradley now balking about earnings from Top Rank, Arum is running way short on boxer resources to draw on.

    Pac-Canelo?
    Forgetaboutit.
It is not very likely to happen unless Arum resigns, Schaefer leaves GBP or Pac leaves TR.

Easily. Think of Pac's opponents. He hasnt faced anyone with real speed. I just noticed that a few days ago. Who has he faced with speed?

Bradley is probably the fastest fighter hes fought. And Bradley doesnt have blinding speed.

Canelo is probably faster than Bradley and definitely hits harder.

    Hes faster and stronger than

    Bradley
    Marquez
    Rios
    Clottey
    Margarito
    Cotto
    Oscar 147
    Mosley
    Hatton
    Diaz
    Morales
    Barrera

    Hes faster than these guys.

Pac has beaten great fighters, just not fast ones. Canelo would be hard for Pac.

Well, yes and no. Canelo certainly has faster hands than Bradley, Canelo actually has pretty remarkable hand speed for his weight class. However, he looks to have concrete shoes in there, very flat footed fighter, Bradley is certainly more fleet of foot. With that said, Canelo is the better fighter of the two, no doubt.

Even with flat feet. Canelo is a very good counter puncher. If your defense isn't elite, he'll catch you.
Pac went down twice in the 4th Marquez fight, and Canelo hits harder than Marquez. He dropped Trout for the first time in his career too. Trout was 172 on fight night against Canelo.

What is gonna happen when that straight right hand connects flush with a 150 pound Welterweight?

Pac is great, his defense isnt. Floyd had the defense to keep Canelo off, and outboxed and outsmarted him. Pac Vs Canelo would be a fire fight. And Canelo has the bigger guns. Once again, Pac is great and an ATG. But I think Canelo is too young, strong and fast for him. His style would play into Canelos hands.

I agree stylistically Canelo isn't great for Pacquiao, I was just saying that in regards to your statement that he is faster than Bradley. I was pointing out that Bradley is faster in regards to foot speed, but Canelo has superior hand speed. Alvarez is certainly a capable, proficient boxer, and seems to have formidable power. The problem is that he was on borrowed time at 154, he is too big to stay there much longer. In his last fight, he could no longer make weight, he is outgrowing 154. I'm not sure if it's possible for him and Pacquiao to have a match. I think Pacquiao would want him to come down to 150 bare minimum, and he can't.

I wouldn't breakout the sledge hammers and champagne and start dismantling the wall just yet. It's a start, but whether the end of the boxing Cold War comes to fruition remains to be seen.

dela hoya is now washing his hands.

if pedjr still refuses to fight pac, has nothing to do with tr/gbp feud, which i agree.

dela hoya himself (gbp founder obviously) fought pacquiao.

this artificial wars/feuds only happened when pedjr was forced to fight pac.

now even mgm is drawn into, seems like pedjr's excuses were not enough and needs to add more.

I have said this in the other thread and I'll say it here again.
Canelo is bad for Pac. Very very bad. Especially if they will fight at the full 154.

At 150, then maybe Pac will stand a decent chance, but even then, if Canelo will make the weight healthy then rehydrates to 165lbs+, Pac is screwed.
