I like pac, he isnt a personal favorite but I rate the guy accordingly and he's done the most in his era by far.

I am an old school boxing fans with deep historical knowledge and consider myself a connoisseur of boxing. It's never been this bad as it has been with Mayweather as the focal point.

Never. I was a supporter of the guy til around his first retirement when the WW division was hot. He's been a disgrace since then.

Okay, again you're obsessed with Pacquiao, so you're going to dislike Mayweather no matter what. His last fight for instance against Alvarez was the fight everyone was clamoring for, then it's a cherry pick afterwards, I know the cycle by now.

Every fighter has people on their resume whom aren't great wins. Go look at Joe Louis, he even had the "bum of the month" club. Lennox Lewis got stopped by two C-level fighters at best. Even Muhammad Ali had forgettable matches in his day, Pacquiao certainly does too. Pacquiao got knocked out cold by two very mediocre fighters early in his career, does he suck? Seriously, every fighter has fights that aren't spectacular, Mayweather does have quality wins though.

In ways he is, in ways he isn't- or at least could be better for boxing. Not really a black and white answer.

Haha. Margarito that year was paid 750K in step aside money. *****'s then acted like Baldomir was in his class. Now that guy is in retrospect a cheater and a disgrace, but then we didn't know that, all we saw was the common link of Mayweather avoiding any kind of real threat.

And a large Welter of unlimited stamina, who doesnt let up and doesnt care about eating any kind of shot would no doubt be in his grill all night even though he's not very skilled. The intangibles make that fight interesting.

Of course because of that - there's one of the 8 fighters he ducked.

You are seriously putting your foot in your mouth. Mayweather ducked Margarito? This is straight from ESPN:

Do you see that outlined in red? That's BOB ARUM of all people, who HATES Mayweather now, clearly admitting Mayweather was willing to take the fight, he just wanted financial guarantees. Arum wouldn't do it, so Mayweather went on to fight Baldomir, and then DLH, making over 25 million in that fight. He then went on to become the biggest draw in the sport.

I can appreciate Floyd's fighting style, but you rarely ever hear casuals come away from his fights saying "Wow, that was a great fight! I was thoroughly entertained!" Rather you hear allegations of Floyd being boring, a runner, and a stream of other expletives out of frustration that they actually paid for it.

One way to look at it is Floyd is good for boxing in that he constantly brings in a large viewership to his PPVs, but I wonder how many are in it for the long run and how many are just watching for the show he creates to sell those fights. And how many casuals are turned away to MMA or elsewhere due to his play-it-safe, sleep inducing style.

That's all nonsense. We have video evidence of Mayweather wanting nothing to do with Margarito. He retired after the Hatton bout for a year while we had Paul Williams, Cotto prime and Margarito in the division, all threats and let them all take care of each other.

The fans were clamoring for a Margarito bout, it was all excuses and money is the key excuse. Again, Margarito is just one of the avoided ones.

Let's not even bother going into Pac. That Arum excuse is rather convenient when you have career high paydays and the matches fans all want to see in the window.

Floyd has severely damaged the whole setup of being a boxing champion.
A real champion choses and fights one opponent, and then fights the mandatory next. So he has the chance to make the taking of the title worthwhile for him and then risk it against the best available contender.
Plus the ridiculously expensive PPV's wich he knows he can pull off because he has a large fanbase that would even pay $70 if he fight any regular Joe. For some of these fans it even seems to be a status symbol to being able to pay that absurd amount to see him box, wich makes the whole thing increasingly weird.

    Let me ask this -

There is no other perceived ATG in history that I can think of accused of being a blatant cherry picker and ducker like this guy. None. Not any type of *******, maniac or other bad things that people generally desppise also accused of this if they took the fights.

Pacquaio is seldom accused of being a ducker.

Floyd is accused by more than half of the boxing establishment of it.

Fairly obvious guilt. The only that defend him are zealous *****s.

LOL the mega fight everyone wanted is Pacquaio. Draining Canelo, an inexperienced and unproven hype job to a weight he barely can make, reducing the guys already poor stamina even more and reducing his punch resistance is nothing to cry home about when you've otherwise recently faced Guerrero and Ortiz.
