Can this guy get any dumber? He's trying to clown a guy for being short when he himself is shorter with a shorter reach. Then he takes pride in 'beating Santa Cruz' in the amateurs.... why does he keep going on about how the amateurs mean nothing then?
Every interview I see of him and his dumb dad they just embarrass themselves with their egos and contradictions, they seem very insecure with the way they talk.

It's going to make the demolition job on the 21st of June more satisfying though :yep

They talk down EVERYONE. It feels like they have already achieved something. THis **** is getting out of hand. "Lomanchenko is a lot easier than people think". He better not actually feel and train accordingly or else it might be a sad sad night for him.

And why is he the mandatory? Shitty opposition and according to boxrec, the last time he fought at the FW limit was actually in 2011. :patsch

Russell is actually pretty well known for training like a beast for his fights.

Hes not a Broner "party and strippers" kinda guy.

So dont worry about him taking anyone lightly

i like a bit of trash talk and confidence but do your research first or you make yourself look like an idiot, also fighting decent opposition before you start talking like this is helpful

Unfortunately some people are seeking for attention by talking down the other boxers. The bad thing is that he is not the only one. I think that he himself is aware that he would realistically have almost zero chance against Rigo, yet he decides to talk down a proven champion without any shame.

The thing is he's not really confident, it's not hard to see that it's a front to boost himself up. He doesn't believe he just needs to jab Rigo to beat him, nobody is that dumb.
When somebody spends all their time talking proven fighters down while refusing to step up even slightly themselves then that tells you that they lack confidence. Prime Roy Jones didn't do that, he took every guy he fought seriously and talked the danger up. You don't see Lomachenko or Golovkin talking opponents down, they focus on being the best they can be. That's confidence and that's the mindset for excellence. GRJ doesn't have the champion mentality, he's heading for a big fall. For some reason he was made the mandatory and he simply can't keep turning fights down, that combined with the fact he sees 1-1 and you have the only reasons why he's taking the fight. He doesn't believe in himself, I'm telling you.

GRJ has a Glass Jaw and it is going to get shattered in this fight. His opponent that has only 2 fights has a more accomplished resume than him because he has been so coddled.:rofl

A man who is where he is at because his training which was cultivated in the amateurs and has a style typical of many amateur fights, is insulting the two greatest amateurs of all time - dudes who schooled his father, Sergey Vodopyanov.

Gary Russell - he already feels entitled, and not in the good way but in the egotistical way. This dude is too in his head and it will show on the night.

He also must have an inferiority complex regarding his size. Rigo is taller than him and has a longer reach yet GRJ is insulting the dude.
Rigo's reach is 5' more than his.

I hope people can now realise that Gary Russell is no gospel in words, it seems as though his words were taken as such a day or two ago.

    Not stepping up?

Is he not fighting this supposed hot shot 2 time olympic champion?
The guy were supposed to believe is the next big thing?

The same guy who held on for dear life every time Salido got near him. The same guy who looked like a deer in headlights? Freedom2013 , Kevin Willis and Farmboxer believe he's the next big thing. Everyone else not so much.

Read the second last sentence again. He is stepping up, but not by his choice and he doesn't realise what he's stepping up to. I give him some credit for taking the fight, but at the same time I'm aware of his hand being forced. Imagine if he weaselled out of his mandatory shot, against a 1-1 fighter? Add in the career high payday. Do the math, he had no choice especially for a fighter who had already sidestepped every challenge thrown at him. No hand excuses or 'fighting for my family and no one else' talk was going to cut it this time, especially when he's been claiming he's been ready for a title shot in every interview he's done for the last two years.
Let's hope he learned a bunch of pro tricks against the blown up flyweight who had been knocked out in 3 of his last 5 fights, that Tomayo guy was the perfect way to get GRJ to 24-0 and ready for Lomachenko. Lomachenko just doesn't have that pro experience man :rofl
