Of all the praise I've heard of Floyd's skills, I don't really hear much about his jab.

He has a very good jab. He used it to great success against Marquez, and outjabbed Oscar.

I suspect you will see the classic jab to the body to disrupt maidanas efforts to attempt and establish a rough high work rate fight

Plenty of his other traits overshadow the basic yet most effective offense tool in boxing. His jab is great, as a matter of fact about 90% of today's top boxers have awesome jabs...heck even Pacmans jab is above average though I don't feel he uses it quite often enough.

Also, look at the Hatton fight. He was landing his jab almost at will in the 9th round.

I've always liked Pac's jab. Especially when uses his to set up that killer left. He doesn't use it much though.

I hate manny's jab because about a half a second after the double flick he jumps in with the left hand... If he used it at other times.. maybe.. but almost any double flick leads to the leap forward left straight.

Pac's jab has a nice snap to it but its as if he only uses it to satisfy Roach and add needed layer to his attack. He will need it at this stage in his career more than ever before.

Good observation, Manny's always been pretty predictable but he's also been explosive and dynamic with his flurries thus the reason why his lack of innovative offense still works to this day....cerebal fighters like JMM and Floyd will always pose a problem to him because of this. He kinda reminds me of Tito Trinidad, if you went balls to the wall with him you'd be setting yourself up for failure if you laid back and capitalized off his mistakes you'd have a good chance of winning.

You are correct in what you've said. Ive just never been big on fighters doing something stupid or wrong, because athletically they can get away with it. Eventually there will be someone you can't get away with it with, but by that point.. it has been ingrained into your fighting style.

Floyd has had lots of fights against southpaws. Corley, Judah, Guerrero, Mitchell, and Ortiz.

Fighters will always turn towards what come natural to them especially in the heat of combat for the athletically gifted its both a gift and a curse because as you stated its almost always to late before you realize its time to evolve and add an extra layer to your game.

Its quite possible Floyd found he didn't need to unleash it against the southpaws he's faced. I surely can't dive into his mindset during those bouts but one this is for sure he won those fights. He must of known something you and I didnt.
