So what are you getting at? C0ckell is not an ATG. Can you name me another top 15 ATG heavy without a career defining win or win over an ATG? I sure can't. Wlad greatness, in my opinion, is based on his longevity at the top. That takes a special kind of fighter. But the fact his era is so weak and gives him no other options for greatness is infinitely discussable.

But can you name a top 15 fighter without any? That is the question. To me it just supports the case that this is a very weak era. I agree we don't know yet who will make it, but using common sense gives us a very good idea. Byrd has a slim outside chance. Haye may get in but it won't be measured by his success at heavyweight. As far as the up and coming crop, do you really see anyone standing out as an exceptional talent? I don't.

Looking back at Axel Schulz. Is it fair to say he is a top 10 HW's from the 90's?
Looking at his record it seems so. Schulz he perhaps unfortunately is known for suffering 'The Three way Robbery' during his back to back title fights against Foreman, Botha and Moorer. Luck certainly didn't shine on this old school war horse. Due to his wins over Moorer and Foreman (coming of his best ever win infact) in his career it seems fair to say so. If those two make it into your top ten then it seems scandalous not to have Schulzy well within. He deffo should be there imo.

Wlad's destructive brutal KO win over prime Axel is hugely underrated. This was the first time Schulz was stopped. Wlad brutalized him inside 8 rounds. Schulz was coming into this fight from his infamous "three way robbery" trilogy of World title fights against ATG Foreman, Moorer and Botha who drug cheated in the fight. All three fights left a black mark on the sport of boxing but the purest of fans knew damn well that Schulz was the true lineal and undisputed champ.

You didn't give your opinion of my question, you avoided it. And being recognized as the best heavyweight has never been a prerequisite. The simple truth is there care no standout contenders. The era is weak. Is there a case for bad timing? Sure. But it doesn't change the facts. By your reasoning Corrie Sanders should be in the hall of fame, correct? After all he did destroy the best guy in the division so he should have been considered the best, no? Or is it more reasonable he WONT get in because he never beat another top rated fighter before or after?
