I chose Hopkins by decision but it isn't out of the question that he might stop Stevenson.

Stevenson throws himself in with his whole body. Hopkins does this too, but in a calculated way. You might see something like JMM KO Pac.

If Hopkins could drop Calzaghe (not an easy thing to do), then he should at least be able to drop Stevenson, who is almost as reckless as Calzaghe and doesn't have half the chin.

Stevenson's best bet is to overwhelm Hopkins with speed (Calzaghe/Dawson). Problem is Stevenson has 1-punch speed, not the combos necessary to trouble Hopkins. Hopkins will neutralize that straight left, start timing his own straight right, and leave Stevenson weaponless, clueless, and possibly unconscious.

    I agree with this.

By now Stevenson should realize that BHOP will seek to limit his output and fight at his pace.
Stevenson will try to keep his offensive output high but while doing it will leave himself open for clean counters from Hopkins.
Hopkins will do what he does and make Stevenson miss or deflect most of his shots.
As frustration sets in Stevenson's output will drop exactly as Hopkins wants it to.
As BHOP starts accumulating rounds Stevenson may make the mistake of trying for a KO and watch into a straight right as you very accurately described.

Surprising the number of votes for a Hopkins win by TKO/KO is increasing in the poll. :yep

How can he do what many others have failed to do, by out-boxing him, or just bum rush him and knock his old ass old? :think

Stevenson should win by TKO or KO, the judges will be for Hopkins, but this fight should be a total mismatch.............

I think this is a toss up a this point. Hopkins looked great against an extremely limited Shumenov. I want to see how Adonis looks against Fonfara before I decide either way.

never realised Adonis is 36. talk about late bloom. I dunno, he obviously has a corker of offensive ability, but has he got the discipline to keep in shape at this age?

yep, he's old by boxing standards and not living the lifestyle of a Bernard Hopkins either.
Stevenson had a late start to his boxing career and has not had time to develop a firm foundation that would allow him to beat Hopkins.

This was definitely proven in DC, just like you said then. :good

Shumenov didn't lose to Hopkins. He lost to those dam judges. :patsch
