Same extact thing they said about Broner. Maidana was tailor made for him too and Maidana had no shot at all to beat Broner. Broner is not Mayweather but thats exact words they said about the broner-Maidana fight.
Mayweather is a favorite against everybody so whats your point. Plus the books dont know how to put up accurate odds. Devon was -700 against Porter, makes no sense. Lucas was a favorite, why when Garcia was champ?? Loma -700 when he had only 1 pro fight!!! SO who cares about how big a favorite he is
Maidana hardly knew what a jab was. He's fighting alot smarter now. The Maidana Khan, Alexander, and Kotelnik beat was pretty raw. They'd get their asses handed to them in a rematch. The Khan and Kotelnik fights were close and could of gone either way.
khan gives guys chances to hit him and Maidana did not knock him out. Floyd is just too defensive. It will be an interesting one or two rounds, and then the pace slows and Floyd starts to land body punches and probably stops Maidana late. I remember when I was very young I saw Tommy Hearns fight Roldan and Hearns did better when he stepped inside rather than fight on the outside where the wide punches of Roldan would hit him. Hearns then started to land body punches and Roldan fell apart, although Hearns punches harder than Mayweather.
Giving Maidana a slight chance. He might catch Floyd with something big but more likely scenario is Floyd clearly outboxes Chino. Still rooting for him:deal
The only people who are writing off Maidana are Pac's fans. They have ulterior motives and angles that make them so deperate to protect Pac at any time that they belittle Maidana at every turn. I hope Pac Canelo gets made. I'd love to hear what Pac's fans would have to say.
I predict a "Blue balls" ending to this fight... (It's going to be very anti-climatic) Maidana prob gonna get DQ'd for pounding Floyd on the back of the head when Mayweather rolls.
The reason I write him off, is because we know Mayweather will outbox him for 12 rounds. I know not even Maidana's biggest fans doubt that. But when people say he has a punchers chance- they are completely wrong. Khan had actually more of a 'punchers chance'. Here is why: 1- If Maidana can't land **** on Alexander, he is in with a defensive wizard 100 times more skilled Devon 2- Even if Floyd has aged 10 years since his last fight, Maidana still, isn't fast enough to catch him 3- Maidana has massively overrated power. He's never even knocked down a good fighter, let alone knocked out. 4- Mayweather, despite it not being tested often has a really good chin 5- As proved against Mosley even if tagged Mayeather has good recovery skills and can easily 'weather the storm' if he is hurt 6- Maidana is also a massively overrated finisher, goes too wild, start fouling bringing in natural breaks for the other fighter, no aim on his punches and always seems in danger of punching himself out if he doesn't finish his opponent early.
madona is a bum who got shut out by the guy who quit against bradley. pedjr is fighting bums 2 levels below bradley. can we say bum A is fighting bum C? yeah, pretty expected outcome.
Despite the obvious love for Floyd in this post, it's a pretty astute analysis of how the fight should play out. Mayweather will not be too bothered by Maidana's pressure as it will be easy to read his offensive moves, thus Floyd will pretty much land counters and lead rights at will. I don't expect many competitive rounds. I would really love to be wrong. If somehow Maidana pulls off a miracle and wins, please feel free to abuse me no end (i'd be ecstatic to see Chino win).
Maidana is a very bad finisher. Even if he staggers Floyd, his accuracy/technique is so awful that he wouldn't land the finishing shot to floyds head if it was the size of a barn.
