yes it really isnt close. I can talk muhammads 5 best wins ( Frazier, Foreman,Norton,Liston and Patterson) and i could put them against anyone and more often than not his resume would win out and were not talking just hws. were talking all weights because if we are just gonna be honest here, nobody at hw has a resume even in the same universe as ali.

His skills were second to none, not to mention the fact that his greatest moments came AFTER his exile. So is the man the best hw of all time? of course. theres really no other logical answer. The guy in his prime was truly the perfect hw and would be favored over any hw in history if they met in their primes.

were talking about a top 5 p4p fighter of all time here. Where you put him in that 5 is up to you but he is a top 5. I personally have him at 3 behind srr and pep. but thats it.

    but at hw? hes

Definitely. And I'm not just saying this because he's my favourite boxer. His all round ability, toughness and resume nail it.

I am evolving to there is no #1 clear cut at Heavy. Some were dominant in weaker eras. Others were the best in talented era, but were upset by lesser talents.

There has never been a heavy cleaning out hall of fame level guys in their near prime or prime that retired undefeated after 10+ year reign.

Based on opponents beaten, I would say Ali is #1, but you could argue otherwise.

Let's just say that he has as strong a case as anybody and more so than about 98%. I myself have him at #1, but I can see an argument for Joe Louis as well. As far as I am concerned, those two are interchangeable for that spot.

I might as well say Lennox Lewis again.
    Everyone else is.

Seriously, Lewis has to rate above Bodell though. And Kimbo Slice.
