As i said before you stupid tit, this is taken straight from Tysons book when i finish work, ill post it just for you
Most boxers are mediocre at lifting weights, weight lifting for low reps is detrimental to them. Nevermind the technique that goes into weight lifting when you get over certain weights. But... Tyson sure squeezed out 250kg at age 13.....
Pft.. the leg press machine? The real question is, what can you squat? I'm talking ATG squat... none of that b!tch half squat.
LBS, yes.. its likely. Do you know the difference between kilograms and lbs? 250kg is 550lbs on the bench press, at age 13... everyone with any experience benching knows this is absolutely bogus. Magnus Samuelsson walked into the gym at 13-14 and could bench 225lbs, he did 270kg for 2-3 reps at his near peak... do you truly believe Mike Tyson at age 13 was nearly as strong as Magnus Samuelsson at his peak? atschatschatsch
Why would Tyson be benching 250kg. Its America no one uses metric. No one who was there would know how many kg he benched. Here is what I think tyson was a freak and at 13-14 he benched 225 maybe even 250 pounds and over time that morphed into 250kg. Kind of like how a teenage Maywether impressing Whitaker in sparing morphed into a teenage Mayweather schooling Whitaker in sparing.
You learn something new everyday . I love Sonny Liston and i didnt even know that . If his fearsome power and brute strength was all natural , then he was truly a genetic freak . Everything about his physique was just intimidating . Looking like that , His purpose in life was to wreak havoc and destroy everyone . That was really his destiny when he was walking on this earth .
Realistically, I think David Tua would be one of the best boxers to put in a bench press competition. Or the squat. A guy like Sonny Liston was strong as hell but his arms were long. The best bench-pressers have short arms.
Maybe he meant a partial push with the leg press machine, moving the weight a few cm's while claiming that's a rep. You see that all the time in the gym.
Looks like a few guys on here have never done a bench-press cycle in their life. I mean 13 y/o pressing 250 kgs and Welterweights pressing 275 kgs atsch
yea man,i'm really sad that liston wasn't born later...he really was a physical specimen, imo the most gifted hw in terms of size and power.he was that big despite growing in a really poor family without enough food. imagine him growing in a normal family so he can eat clean and enough, and than boxing plus modern weight lifting,peds...he would really be impressive.really really strong, and probably taller and even longer arms.:yikes
