Shaefer was the one calling Arum trying to make the fight in 2012. Shaefer is also the one who reached out to the mediator in order to start negotiation.

What did Arum do? He was in the media asking, "Why is Shaefer calling me, GBP has nothing to do with this fight?" Much more as well.

Are you guys forgetting the part where floyd is quoted in just the last year as saying "I will never work with Bob Arum ever again"?

You can't really avoid that quote when laying blame on why he fight won't happen.. it's certainly an important ingredient.

 

I agree with this.

People can hypothesize all they want, but unless they see first hand how the negotiations are going between the 2 parties, nobodies opinion really means anything on this forum. It's baseless talk with absolutely no way to confirm anybodies hypothetical reasons as to why this fight hasn't materialized.

If I had to guess, I'd say they're both at fault to a certain degree. Doesn't help matters that they fight for different promotional companies, and now they fight on different networks which adds another obstacle to this megafight from happening.
