There is a pattern that's already established. As soon as a fighter leaves Top Rank, they manage to get a showdown with Floyd.

If Pacquiao were a GBP fighter, or a free agent, the fight would get definitely get made. All these guys that Mayweather is supposedly ducking are either Top Rank fighters, signed to HBO, or 2+ weight classes above Mayweather. Pacquiao is a WW, and has no contract with HBO. Unfortunately, he's a Top Rank fighter.

    Hopkins??? :rofl:rofl:rofl Please.

Loses to Jones in his "physical prime"

Then builds his name and legacy off smaller fighters (Tito & Oscar)

Then loses to Taylor in his "Mental Prime"

Then beats Wright, but makes Wright come up in weight. He beat Pavlik, great win :deal

Lost to Calzaghe and embarrassed by Dawson....who was later proved to be not even that good.

Hopkins has gotten more passes than any other athletes in sports. His resume and legacy is littered with excuses and "but what ifs" :deal

To say Hopkins legacy/resume is better than Floyd's is laughable. :deal

JMM I believe is a better fighter than Morales. I know that's debatable though.

But the manner in which Floyd completely dominated and schooled JMM speaks volumes about where he is on a skill level.

Pac avoided challenges. Freddie Roach publicly stated that following Mosley's destruction of Margarito, that Mosley was too dangerous of a fight for Pacquiao to take. You know who Pacquiao fought instead of Mosley that year? Ricky Hatton and Cotto, 2 guys who had been DESTROYED in the past 2 years. Do you know who took the Mosley fight? Floyd Mayweather :deal

    http://articles.latimes.com/2010/feb/02/sports/la-sp-dwyre-pacquiao2-2010feb02

"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter."

Funny Roach says there's not enough money, but later that year Floyd accepted Mosley as a fight and broke records again :rofl

So you agree that if Pacquiao were free, not only would we see Mayweather-Pacquiao, but Pac would earn more money as well. :smoke

I'm not sure about the difference in pay, but the fight would definitely get made.
