Tyson's style in his prime was created to beat guys like Lewis. 99 Lewis gets creamed.

Lewis said after there actual fight to Mike something like "When you were young
noone could beat you, you were the best." I think Lewis would be visibly intimidated
and surely lose the mental battle. Lewis's uppercut was not quick enough to land
consistently or at all, and the same goes for his hook. Lewis did not have the
speed or snap on his jab to put on a clinic like Buster or Biggs' first round, haha.

Dont worry, once Hughie Fury breaks Mike Tysons record, we wont have to watch that stupid clip of Tyson making Berbick do the chicken dance to become the youngest heavyweight champion of the world. :bbb

Then we can watch Hughie Fury highlights

And Tyson said after the Lewis fight that he didn't think he ever could've beaten Lewis.

As I've demonstrated, Tyson always had a harder time with LARGER heavyweights.

'99 Lewis is better than Mitch Green, Toney Tucker, Bonecrusher Smith, Buster Douglas, Razor Ruddock, 2003 Lennox Lewis or Kevin Mcbride.

Given the facts, it would be quite a victory for IronMike to make it all 12 rounds. Mike winning is out of the question :deal

Tyson would only have a very small punchers chance. I'm 99% sure Lewis picks him apart on his way to a crushing KO.

Really?!? So Lewis is an easier win than Mitch Green, Bonecrusher Smith, Toney Tucker or Buster Douglas? Mike ain't knocking out no big, tall legit heavyweight like Lewis. He couldn't do it against much lesser fighters. I say Tyson would be lucky to make it to a wide UD loss.

I see a clear UD loss for Lewis.

You can make a solid case either way.But even though Lewis was better than the tall me Tyson fought around his prime, he both got better after the early ones, chiefly Tillis, & who did Lews fight with such a combination of skills, power & speed? Lewis did not do well enough against an over the hill Holyfield to ensure he would beat a peak (& roided) Holyfield who did not have to fight in spurts.

Also is it fair to incessantly talk about the trouble Tyson had with tall men when he usually dominated the rounds? You could say the same thing about peak Ali vs. Chuvalo, Mildenburger,..And they also were no ATGs.

And unless possibly there was a gug-fest like w/Green, I think Tyson had a spike with his peak vs. Spinks, don't know if any last the distance then.
Though I rate Lewis higher than either one in overall accomplishments, head to head peak I take Tyson.

The topic is Mike Tyson from 1988...otherwise known as the prime version, otherwise known as the version that trounced Holmes, Tubbs and Spinks...pitted against Lennox Lewis from the year 1999.

Tyson "couldn't" knock out "lesser" fighters because they avoided scrapping and basically fought to survive since they knew fighting Tyson head on would end in a disastrous loss. Like most people I agree that if Lennox tried to engage Tyson he'd end up horizontal. But if he played it safe, which he most likely would, he'd lose a lackluster 12 round decision, just like those "lesser" fighters.
