Cris "Cyborg" lost to Jorina Baars in a muay thai fight. Cris was 2-0 and Jorina who has had nearly 40 fights.

However in MMA Cris is 12-1 (1 NC) and Jorina is 1-3.

I bring this up, because MMA vs Boxing argument is petty and doesn't seem to happen with other sports. It's not MMA vs BJJ, MMA vs Wrestling, or MMA vs Muay Thai. All other combats sports play an integral role in MMA, and so does boxing. Any athlete in the aforementioned sports would lose to the other in their respective sports.

Good luck to both Cris and Jorina in both their MMA and Muay Thai careers!

Lol, I think I brought up an uncomfortable topic. Hopefully someone is willing to open up on the thread.

Anything above 140lbs outside Thailand doesn't bear any resemblance to Muay Thai....

How so? I'm assuming that you mean that Muay Thai fights , in heavier weight classes, outside of Thailand are basically glorified kickboxing matches. :think

Foreigners don't have the experience of the Thai's, nor the nimble athletic ability required to pull off Muay Thai at the highest level of technical expertise.

Kickboxing is better suited to bigger guys.
