    Good post.

But in my opinion, it maybe decades before Joe's stats at SMW are surpassed.

Because I can't see any top fighter staying at SMW for 14 years like he did.

I think that when Andre retires, Joe will have the best stats at SMW, but Andre will have the better resume overall. That's my prediction.

That fight was not close... It was closer to 118-110. Judges hate giving lop sided decisions.

I can check it out and rewatch the entire fight but I don't have so much time in my hands. I remember it was a fair 115-113 scores andd you can't really do much better than that against Froch so closer than this, Ward would have to go to a Split Decision or a Majority Decision to win, draw or lose to Calzaghe. Calzaghe won a SD against Hop and Hop is a older version of Ward so everything makes sense.

    :good

I try to be as fair as possible to Calzaghe even though I am on the Roy Jones side of the argument almost always.

I think it will be a long time before someone stacks up a SMW resume as deep as his.. He didn't beat very many "great" fighters at that weight, but he beat many good ones over many years.

I do wish he would have mixed it up with Hopkins, Jones ect a bit earlier, and wish he tried to unify LHW (i thought he had a few more good fights in him) but we can't overlook that he did have an impressive run. It is hard to pull it together every single time you step into the ring.

He was a very good fighter.

He's overrated by some, but underrated by some others. As it almost always is with fighters. Just depends on who is doing the rating.

I'm not biased, but I believe Joe Calzaghe is a Living God. He beat Roy Jones. He embarrassed Bernard "Humpkins". And...he's bigger than Jesus Christ, Moses, Alexander, Mohammed, Abraham Lincoln and Ghandi.

:rofl:patsch This thread just oozes bitterness. First ballot HOFer Joe Calzaghe thrashed all and sundry. That is not conjecture, that is not speculation, that is pure unadulterated irrefutable fact.:deal

Deal with it nincompoops, or receive a brutal forum flogging at the hands of the Team Elite Corporation.:smooch:vonnecunt

Lol at Ward fans accusing Calzaghe of staying at home! Why doesn't Ward do what Calzaghe did go up to 175 and fight either Stevenson or Kovalev in Canada, I hate all this bull**** of he stayed at home, Floyd Mayweather has never once fought outside of the States, SRL only fought once outside in Canada, Seems to be an American arrogance thing IMO why don't the big US fighters go over to the UK if their so confident of winning, oh wait Lacey tried that and got ruined same for G Man. Staying at home no fighters in the world stay at home more than the US fighters. Ward won't even leave his home town let alone country.
