Why didn't Tyson use any head movement in the Buster Douglas fight?

I know he barely prepared for the fight but he constantly had his hands down without much head movement

 

Because he was partying everyday and didn't train at all! ZZZZZZZZZ!

I don't believe all the excuses, facts are he got his ass kicked, Douglas on that night would have always beaten Tyson.

 

That is the precisely kind of thing that a lazy and poorly prepared fighter will not bother with.

Tyson wasn't motivated before the fight. However fact of the matter is that Douglas put on a hell of a fight and came out "The heavyweight champion of the world" So obiously he did something right.

 

He didn't turn up fighting fit and hadn't been simulating the movement and elusiveness that got him to the top in practice.

 

Douglas.. Tyson was 18 years old in 1985 with a dozen fights.

 

Why promote the lie that Tyson didnt train? He turned up in as good shape as ever.

 

Douglas. By the end of 1985,Tyson was still a novice. The Tyson of late '86 to '89 beats the Douglas of Tokyo.

 

He was n't in shape at all. That's not taking anything away from Douglas who put on the performance of his life.

Tyson stopped moving his head because he was paying a price moving it. Douglas had him buying feints all damn night.

He moved it to the left he got hit with a right hand. Moved it right he got a left hook in return. His answer was to not move his head.

Watch the first round. Tyson moved his head!! He started getting hit so he stopped it.

 

I think Tyson had abandoned head movement altogether by then but he later went back to it early in fights. I think he was just looking to launch Ruddock, but I will have to review the fight.

For Douglas Tyson was still into head movement. He'd been programmed to do it but some how Douglas was able to time his movement by getting him to react to a feint. There was a lack of imagination on TYsons part, he had been so successful until then that he was at a loss what to do when something did not work. He kept getting caught and could not work out why.

Later Lewis coppied this. Once Tyson was tired he would move it side to side before a punch came. His feet did not follow with the head movement. Lewis would pull the trigger to catch TYsons head on the way back in much the way Foreman timed Fraziers head to come up after it went down.
