In between round when I am fighting most people sit on the stall. But does anyone else then get really stiff and tired legs once they stand up even though they are fine at the end of the round? Is this a fitness/nerves things even though since I am reasonably experienced (10+fights) and fine in sparring to do 5+rounds. Anyone else get this and any ways around it?

your recovery time is not enough, so i think its a fitness thing. You are not tired on the end of the round part because of adrenaline and part cause your legs are warm.

try standing in the corner instead of sitting, maybe that would be better.

btw this is a very good question, it happened to me also, but later im just faster in the beginning of the round, dont have problems like that anymore

Yeah that is a fair point, thanks... Yeah sometimes I get up for the last 20 seconds on the rest which generally makes it ok, it just feels like the second you keep your muscles stiff and suddenly then try make them go again they stiffen up. Is that about recovery time then or about just general muscles stiffening because they are being kept still?

i am not some physio guy here, but maybe is just muscle stiffening. Many times i saw coaches raising fighters legs and shaking them while they sit on the stall between rounds, thats how they prevent stiffening i guess.

  5. Sit or stand. Whatever works best for you. Get the corner man to rub your hamstrings a bit if you choose to sit.

keep you knees slightly bent. let your bones hold you up not your muscles. don't over bend it, it will waste a ton of energy on your muscles.
