Used to be true, but right now the UK is where boxing matches are selling 80k tickets. If Ward wants the "big money" right now the UK is the place to be at 168lbs.

That don't mean ****. The main source of revenue is not from live gate but television right. Pac and Floyd have never sold half that and the are the most attracted boxers in the sports. The Purchasing power of the U.S. is higher than the top ten economies in Europe combined. Thats the reason most foreign fighters fight in USA and not Uk despite the UK out selling America in boxing live gate.

Ward isn't a PPV fighter, so your argument don't mean ****.

3M fee for HBO WCB < 40 to 80K live gate tickets at a high profile fight :deal

    :roll::roll::roll:

You do realize boxing is like the 2nd most popular sport in the UK right? And not even top 10 in the US? If they can sell 80k tickets, that also means theyre selling lots of PPV.

    You make zero sense.

Yes, the USA due to being large/wealthy and such is a center of international boxing. However there are some obvious exceptions when it comes to money fights, and the 168lb weight division in the UK is obviously one of them. Ward could get 5-7mil for UK fight easily.

2mil is probably about as much he could make for a fight in the US. Maybe 3.

Dude I'm not gonna waste my time arguing with you over this ****. How many foreigner come to the UK to pursue their boxing career. Look at the top ten pound for pound fighters in the world and I bet you majority of them fight in the USA. Most foreign fighters pursue their career in America, not the UK. Canelo Avarez sales out stadium in Mexico yet he is here in America trying to increase his mainstream Appeal.

BY the way, Froch have not shown genuine interest in fighting Ward. If he did Ward will have no problem going to England to kick his ass again. If I'm lying show evidence that Froch shown interest in fighting Ward. What part of Ward is going through promotional problem don't you understand. If he was fighting as consistent as he should, there is no doubt that he will be collecting more than the figures that you just gave.

You are talking in general terms like "most" which is not really pertinent to the discussion. UK in particular has a vibrant local scene. Also, lots of foreigners go to UK and Europe to pursue boxing careers... I mean seriously. Is the US in general a larger stage at the top? Sure. If you are Floyd or Manny. Klitscho, Khan, Sturm, Froch and many more all have made money in Europe greater than just about any recent US fighting boxer not named Floyd or Manny.

Forget about boxing, you seem to not have much of a grasp on anything other than a few vague rules of thumb. Or in other words, a loose set of assumptions that in this case do not really apply.

Whats ironic, is I was actually putting down the Ward haters and saying that he in fact has several big money fights at 168 as soon as he can get his business cleared up. Apparently since I was not licking his nads, you decided to grace the thread with your own unique flavor of business ignorance.

Even more ironically, I am pretty sure Ward agrees with me - and wants to go on the road himself. Why else would he want to bail on Goosen, who has kept him fighting local? I honestly think Ward would love to get a high 7 figure payday fighting in front of 50k UK fans.

Bull****, he was busy turning down fights before he "got stuck"

He could have added Bute and Froch II to his resume, but now he has nothing but inactivity. Bravo, Ward, Bravo.

He does have a valid point.
Germany, Russia and England have some of the most outrageous refs and judges the boxing world has ever seen. Half of Calzaghe's KO record is compiled due to English ref early stoppages.
LOL. Excessive Rabbit punching seems to be perfectly legal in an English ring.

If I were Ward, no way would I ever set foot in an English, German, or Russian ring. :-(
