Figueroa is stalking after Belmontes, jabbing into his chest and dropping his head to either side behind a suspended glove, shoulders tightly raised and pinched in. Belmontes is backing up, a bit looser in his movements, firing accurate jabs into the face and wrist of Figueroa, blinding him and keeping the champ's jab inert. Counter jabs by Belmontes as he hops along the ropes, changing directions while Figueroa ducks and rolls looking for a 1-2. Double fluttering right hand by Figueroa and a left uppercut to the body swooping in on Belmontes by the ropes. Belmontes lands a counter right and steps outside to his right, dodging a flurry by Figueroa.
