Why didn't Tyson use any head movement in the Buster Douglas fight?

    :lol::rofl

Tyson doesn't beat any version of Douglas or Holyfield. Styles make fights. Tyson was a mental midget and not unbeatable.

King had all Tysons team liquidated. In his efforts to rip Tyson off , he knew the only things stopping him was whispers in Mikes ear about how much money he should be earning.
Therefor King had them all gone including Rooney, and Mikes decline began.

King actually paid reporters to claim Rooney left Mike so Don seemed innocent.

Mikey has had half a lifetime to learn from his errors..you are right Choklab...but never seems to be a better person.
    Back to the original question.
    1 he was badly prepared.
    2 poor corner
3 he had little plan B

Most people dont know **** about boxing

Douglas struggled to beat a tyson that did not train

and had a bull crap team around him and he was knocked down

    86-88 tyson smokes him

even a 98 tyson training hard beats douglas that night

bruh its a shame you dont study film or know anything about the sport

He was only 2 lbs more than when he fought spinks, are you saying tyson only cuts 2 lbs when he trains? You are promoting a bull**** notion that tyson wa out of shape...

    BINGO:good

Tyson didn't use head movement because Douglas didn't let him:-(, everything Tyson tried to do Buster had an answer for...

To many Tyson nuthuggers and groupies have been trying to make excuses for their fanboy getting his ass handed to him nearly a quarter century later, and the bull**** has gotten real old and stale, not to mention tedious and just dumb..

Jesus freaking christ, Douglas was running a fever, flu days before the fight, and his Mother just died, and he still kicked Tyson's ass:hi:

Its a fact bru you really think he trained hard for the Douglas fight

Tyson was a deadman walking after he left rooney

Dude stopped using anything cus taught him

Head movement, jabs bobbing and weaving punches in punches and body punching

watching tyson 85-88 is night and day after he left rooney it is not the same fighter period

Nonsense. He used head movement but it didn't work. Douglas was one step ahead of him, it's called boxing. Tyson's head movement was always a bit predictable, but he was so quick out of the gate and opponents could rarely break his rhythm. But Douglas was on top of the situation. And Tyson was never consistent with his head movement or long.

People should watch all 10 rounds of the Ribalta fight (1986) and all 12 rounds of the Tucker fight (1987), and they will see Tyson plodding in and getting picked off plenty of times. Douglas did the same thing but much better and with harder punching.

Tyson stopped doing roadwork after Spinks.........before the Douglas fight he was more concerned with weight cutting than training, entered camp at 280, got handled left and right in sparring, woke up in a brothel on fightnight, was warned by McCall "dont sleep on Douglas", Larry Merchant commented that he looked disinterested with no fire when he entered the Ring.

Boxing is 80% mental and 20 % physical.........you do the math, he failed in both.

No excuses, the better man won that night but I would put money on the Spinks or Holmes Tyson to beat Tokyo Douglas in convincing fashion.

He gained weight in Tokyo and drained himself before the fight to save himself the embarrassment of looking tubby in the ring. Along with everything else he was weak from cutting weight and still missed out on a KO win by a nano second.

Everything that could of went wrong went wrong for him over there , while Douglas fought the greatest performance of his life.

I will answer simply. He got lazy in training and took boxing for granted.

I don't think he was lazy, I just think he lacked the focus required to do anything other than fall back on his talent.

The programmed way he had been so effortlessly successful until that point meant he had taken what he had developed into for granted. He was taught a system that worked to the extent that it was instinctive, he no longer had to think. It just worked. Problem was he needed to think too.

Douglas had him buying fients. Tyson kept falling into the same trap over and over. Douglas could predict his moves. Douglas kept setting him up and Tyson ran out of ideas. It was a hard lesson.

I don't think Tyson could be receptive to even the best possible corner advice once it was happening to him like that. Nothing in his development prepared him for that. usually a fighter develops while working things out for himself and reacting to a situation. Tyson developed acting rather than reacting. It was taught so that he behaved instinctively. Cus developed a system for him that did not require him to think for himself but once he was against somebody who had his number he needed to prevent himself following through something that was not working. Tyson stopped in his tracks and was actually lost.

Douglas was good enough that night to expose this great Frankenstein creation in much the way max Schmeling also got into the zone to overacheive and beat a better fighter. He had that antidote.

What part of the 11th of February 1990, are you and other Tyson worshipping numpties having trouble understanding?

86 - 88 has got fvck all to do with it. He was beaten by the better fighter. Full stop.

All this excuse making goes 2 ways. If he had the dedication, discipline, and decency of his brother, he might have ended up being a doctor in California, instead of a mugger in Brooklyn, leading up to all his other SELF INFLICTED problems, including getting ripped off, and his reputation destroyed.
