It's a catch 22 with the Klitschkos.

I agree. It's hard for Klitschko to have a huge legacy building win because there is such a big gap in the rankings. There is Klitschko at 1 through 9 and everyone else so to speak. Povetkin was supposed to be a big rival and he just came to get held, so who is left? Pulev? Wow! As if the haters are even going to give him credit after he KO's him. Wlad is sitting at the top of the mountain picking off all the contenders, kinda hard to build a legacy when you are a challenger because after one or two decent wins you get your shot at Wlad then get beat.

 

Thos has been the plan of every Wlad and Vitali challenger for the last 10 years. I'm sure it was Vitali who said 'they've all get a plan until they get hit'.

It's amazing how every single challenger comes out at a pace and swinging until they feel the first jab/straight right combination then they just visibly wilt.

Most interesting fight out there for Wlad as far as I can see is Fury, for 2 reasons:

1. He's mental
2. He has a jab of his own and decent outside skils

I think he can make it competitive

 

A prime Foreman was closer to 6'4" than he was 6'3", his reach was as long as either Klitschko's, and he weighed 224 Lbs. vs. Frazier in their rematch. He was 235 Lbs. vs. Qawi and looked the most solid he would look in his 2nd career. Where are we going with this? Do you think Foreman would look small standing next to a Klitschko? No, he wouldn't. Shannon Briggs was 225 Lbs. when he fought Lennox Lewis and looked fvcking huge. You need to look beyong the #'s.

Foreman was one of the strongest men to ever box, if not the strongest. He was one of the hardest punchers, if not the hardest. His chin was one of the best ever, definately better than Wladimir's. He had a great jab and he proved he could defeat great fighters like Frazier and Norton. Even in defeat he could give a great fighter a tough night... Ali and Holyfield for example.

The Klitschko's were/are great, but there is no need to pretend that Foreman would look like a child standing next to one of them. Foreman was/is a big man. Tall, long reach, big frame, big hands and feet, big legs, big ol ass... simply a big man!

 

I am Australian and dearly wanted Leapai to land that one big punch but did you see his head movement? Unfortunately this is the type of fight Wlad chooses , one in which he has no chance of losing as long as he can clinch on the inside.

How many punches did Klit have to land? Wlad is overrated.

The fight was a mandatory, Wlad didn't choose it. He has taken on all challengers and beaten them. Most of the fight Wlad was boxing off the back foot, as soon as he planted his feet he took Leapai out brutally.

If Wlad is overrated for that, then everyone in history who has ever boxed is overrated too. Or maybe it's your logic that is overrated.

Man foreman was sooooo one dimensional it's not funny he only had power ZERO boxing SKILLS!!!!! Ali PROVED that when they fought!!!

 

Larry Holmes had successive defenses against Lorenzo Zanon, Leroy Jones, Scott Ledoux, a Parkinson's Ali, Berbick and a 10-2-2 Leon Spinks. The stuff of greatness!

Foreman had solid boxing skills. You don't win an Olympic Gold medal if you can't box at an elite level.

Are there other fighters that had better boxing skills of course, but George did have very good skills.

 

Foreman does look small next to the Klitschkos.

 

Berbick was considered **** in the day, tho in retrospect we recognize him as limited but strong and fairly durable. Povetkin, Chambers, Brock, Chagaev, Peter, Thompson, Ibragimov would all likely beat him.
