You can take your pick, but I'd rather see an occasional undeserving challenger than an undeserving belt holder.

 

Last night was a joke. If Lennox had lined up a many bums as Wlad people would still be taking the **** now.

Does ducking mean offering fights in your universe?? Because he's offered all of them (except Pulev who is a mando anyway) a fight.

 

Being a belt holder means nothing unless you're the lineal champion. Being force fed a guy like Leapai is just ridiculous. Had it been an optional fight to stay busy it still would have sucked but at least have been more understandable.

Look, unification > mandatories. So if Wlad picks up the WBC, isn't that even better for Pulev should he win? Of course it is, he gets all 4 belts in one fight......but we all know he isn't beating Wlad. People just ***** and moan over anything, sad ****s.

 

Pulev turned down a fight with Vlad sometime back because he wanted to have a couple more fights..............Vlad just did what the WBO ordered him to do, fight his mandatory, when it's time to fight for his other mandatories he will. Wilder will not be able to beat Stiverne or Arreola, I think Wilder will fight Sconiers again..........

 

Absolutely false. Those belts mean something to the fighters that have them from both a pride and financial perspective. You make more $$$ when you can call yourself a champion. Even if the claim is weak. If a fighter wants the easier path to a title, that's the belt they'll target. And the benefits for winning that belt will be real.

It's far better for Wlad to eliminate the possibility of paper titlists like that if the cost is the occasional weak mandatory.

Fortunately, Pulev is both the IBF mandatory and a deserving contender, so that problem won't be there for the IBF defense.

Depending on the champion's philosophy, the end result is paper titlists or occasional weak mandatories. There is no way around it. In my mind, Wlad's making the right choice.

 

If holding belts means nothing, then why is Lennox still TODAY telling people he was the 'last undisputed HW champion'.
