He can't fight near to his best attributes inside or out of a clinch, let alone entirely in a hold.

Ward is at his best with his forehead pressed against his opponents' chest. Not the case for any of the other fighters on this list other than Floyd, who also is a better outside fighter than inside but he's great at that too, and Hopkins used to be a killer inside fighter although I think that has certainly evaporated much with age.
