Active fighters where the winner does not have the legacy of the loser and the loser goes on to do more at present.

Let me explain. This thread is about world class fighters where one may have lost to another, but the winner does not have the resume of the loser and the loser may have gone on to do more.
Arguably the losers could be considered greater fighters.

    Examples

Hopkins lost to Dawson, but has the better resume and has since gone on to do more in beating undefeated LHW champ Cloud, LHW champ Shumenov and Murat whilst Dawson who beat Hopkins lost to Ward (different weight) and lost to Stevenson.

Ward beat Froch, yet Froch had a comparable resume and went on to beat undefeated SMW champ Bute, Kessler as well as Groves and Mack. Ward who won beat drained Dawson and Rodriguez

Give me some more examples with active world class fighters

Possibly something with Pac and Marquez? or Cotto and Trout maybe

Does tarver vs Jones count as active?

    Khan vs Prescott?

They are both active so definately a consideration. The only thing is since the loss I think Tarver would have done more with wins over Johnson, Jones again, Green etc.

Khan / Prescott is a fantastic example. Good one

No no he means go onto accomplish more after the defeat

More like a setback at the start if a boxers career by a fighter who goes onto accomplish a lot less

So JMM Bradley or hatton sen would not apply

I.e Khan Prescott as Khan has gone onto capture 3 World Titles where as Prescott ain't done much

I will try and explain myself better using the Hopkins / Dawson example

    1. To start with Hopkins had a greater resume to Dawson.
    2. Dawson beat Hopkins
    3. Since the loss Hopkins has carried on and done more than Dawson and had the better career at present since the loss

Southpawology gave a good example of Khan/Prescott

What about A Abraham and A Dirrell

Since Dirrell beat Abraham, neither have had massive wins but Abraham has scored the better ones with 2 wins over Steiglitz and had the better resume to begin with

Indeed, Abraham has captured the WBO title?

    Has Dirrell even fought since?
