Stevenson : I would love to unify the titles against Pasacal

i called this out when stevenson won the title....

him and pascal are friends(not super close but being from the haitian community is close enough) to not wanna fight eachother in the pro's unless it is really really worth it, meaning million dollar paydays or both having belts....its not worth it for either of them unless there is a huge reward, otherwise they would rather see eachother progress...


as for pascal vs kovalev....this goes 12 rounds for a SD pascal....i say this depending if/how many times pascal gets dropped and leaves the round down 10-8....but it would go 12 rounds for sure, and be kovalevs first 12 rounder, which he could win on points, only if he drops pascal enough times to make it that mascal would need a KO to win

 

Pascal is hittable and has poor stamina. That's a bad match-up for Kovalev's seek and destroy style. He'd make Pascal work every round, and win by mid to late stoppage.

 

The fight will be interesting bcause Pascal is hittable and so is Kovaleve. Neither possess the best defence or boxing skills in the biz and it will very likely end up as a slug fest with both fighters landing bombs on one another.
We already know that Pascal has a good chin and can take a shot, but Kovalve is still very questionable.

while pascal is hittable, is chin is granite...he isnt getting KO, but he will get knocked down a few times if he is careless...


pascal style for this fight is the same he used against dawson and b-hop....sitting back then lunging in for a punch or 2 and running away...he will try and win rounds while bringing kovalev to the late rounds where he has never been....you wanna talk about pascal gassing after 6 that is true, but he can still bang for 12 with froch....kovalev has never gone past 8....pascal would try and push the tempo to tire kovalev, his punching power will probably be neglected in the later rounds....

while kovalev may be great at ko his victims under 5 - 6 rounds, pascal is good in the first 5-6 and will try and tire kovalev so that the last 6 kovalev has no power left...

 

Pascal would have no chance against Kovalev. Kovalev would know him out!!! Stevenson sighed with Showtime to avoid a fight with Kovalev, which says something............

 

HBO had a deal with Stevenson for a fight against Kovalev, but Stevenson went to Showtime to avoid fighting Kovalev. Kovalev will murder Pascal..........

 

I don't think Pascal would beat Kovalev.

 

I wasn't trying to argue that the resumes imply that Kovalev would win, simply that the resumes are comparable,

Kovalev himself (in his trash letter to Adonis) acknowledges that he hasn't really fought a top guy yet, but then neither has Stevenson (except for the possibly ruined Dawson).

Styles wise - Kovalev has faced a reasonable range BUT - what he hasn't faced is someone with a top class counterpunch like Stevenson, this is one of the factors that made it such an intriguing matchup.

I really would like to see Kovalev - Pascal, no matter what follows, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see which way Pascal jumps. I'm sure HBO would be willing to throw some big $s at it, but Pascal can get paid really well in Canada almost whoever he fights, so he might prefer a less risky opponent.

Stevenson is about to fight a somebody, Hopkins, and make 10x the cash.
If Stevenson wins he will have three of the LHW belts.

I know you started this brand new alt to create drama, but couldn't you at least start off by displaying a gram of common sense?

 

10x the cash? Nah. Not even close.

Stevenson was due $1.6 million (out of $2.4 mil) to fight Kovalev. Pascal - Hopkins total purse bid was $1.91 mil, Dawson got about 800k, Cloud about 650K for Hopkins.

I'd be surprised if Stevenson (as the B side) gets much over $2 mil.
