I remember reading something about some ATG heavyweights such as Holyfield and Tyson doing it but I can't find it on the internet. :huh
Yeah, several years back they had something called SPARQ metrics, they used 'em on the reality show The Contender...season three or four. Never really heard anything else about them, guessing it proved flawed or just didn't catch on for whatever reason. (lack of funding?)
http://youtu.be/BJxCiJYDYRg I know these machines aren't accurate but that's a **** poor attempt from Evander Holyfield, I usually get in the high 900's on these sort of machines.
As i recall an Article in the Ring Magazine Cira 69 / 70 detailed an experiment whereby Al Blue Lewis (if Memory Serv's) took a trip to a Detroit Car Plant and was allowed to Haul off on a wired up Crash Test Dummy....The Results given for his Best Shot were "Severe...But Survivable.." Unfortunately for Al his opponents in the ring were not that Static or Pacifist !
Haha. Idiotic "measurement". And also Holyfield did not try to punch. But it would be interesting if someone could find a standarized punch measure. So we can say "He punches xx hard, and he punch like a twat."
