I recall the Guerrero fight getting hyped pretty hard by the media and Showtime. BS storylines about Ruben vs. Floyd Sr., Guerrero's wife, Guerrero's gun, etc. This fight hasn't really had any of that. Plus Guerrero is Mexican and the fight was on Cinco de Mayo weekend with Mares vs. PDL on the undercard. That card had all the ingredients for maximizing the sales of a mismatch, and it bombed.

This card has an Argentinean, Broner, and Khan. Realistically, Broner isn't bringing any new buys to Floyd's card, particularly fighting an absolute pushover with no potential for an entertaining fight. Khan might tip a few British over the fence, but Mayweather is pretty popular over there and I think most Khan fans would be tuning in anyway to see him. Collazo is Mexican but I just don't see a lot of folks forking over $75 to cheer him on.

This card is going to sell in the 750k-950k range. I can't see how it gets over 1mil.

 

Wont matter. CBS mothership is underwriting the Floyd contract. Spending tens of millions across a few years means very little if they consider it a brand investment.

HBO is whooping SHO in terms of original programming right now, but SHO Sports has made a big surge and played a large role in keeping SHO relevant. CBS could care less if they lose a few dozen million over several years. Their revenue is like 16B or something, plus just snatching Floyd from HBO/TW in the first place is a feather in Moonves's cap.
