Is it fair to say now that Calzaghe's win over Hopkins trumps any win Mayeather has?

Oscar win was up there, Oscar though past his best came to fight.. Marquez is certainly nearly as good as Hopkins, and Mayweather gave him a lesson. Recently Canelo, that win is also in this conversation.

    Trump is a strong word.

Calzaghe had a close fight with Hopkins.

People on this forum take **** to the extremes.. It is almost pointless to argue with some of these people. How Calzaghe's close hard fought win against Hopkins "trumps" every victory on Mayweather's resume is beyond me.

Marquez had to come up to 2 divisions fight Mayweather- nowhere near as good. Oscar was a lot more past it than Hopkins and it was just as close as the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight (i.e both Floyd and Joe won clearly despite not having a UD). Canelo :lol: get real.

I have absolutely nothing against Calzaghe , and really dislike Mayweather's personality but appreciate his boxing skills..

But this thread is just stupid. Mostly trolls, I probably wont be posting in here too much more.

How many pound for pounders has Hopkins flattened with one punch since losing to Calzaghe? Remember I said in the conversation.. Calzaghe's win over Hops does not "trump" this.

Oscar was past it, but bigger, and came at Mayweather... Hopkins was resorting to controversial tactics to get a break so he could even keep up with Joe's pace. Both close fights, both comparable IMO.

Canelo was a young, undefeated prime fighter.. Funny this win instantly went to **** after Mayweather dominated.

Nobody rated Canelo apart from Mayweather fan boys trying to build him up once he was chosen as an opponent. He's a kid and got badly exposed by Trout in his previous fight, a fight a lot felt he lost. Canelo was a cherry pick.

I am not going to get into this with you, because I respect Calzaghe and don't want to trash on him just to counter your argument... so whatever.:good

Of course Calzaghe beats Charles. Ezzard is DEAD, ffs:lol::lol:. But if you were to take prime Charles against prime Calzaghe, Ezzard beats his ass Handily. Calzaghe has NEVER, EVER fought anyone remotely as good as Charles, as his light heavyweight resume consists of a shot to **** Jones(JC admitted as much in his own autobiography YEARS before they ever fought), and Hopkins who had been decisioned twice at middle by Jermaine Taylor at middle BEFORE he and JC fought. Funny how Hopkins gets this treatment while he keeps beating mediocrities like Shumenov. Ezzard, who has one of the greatest light heavy resumes EVER, would beat Joe DECISIVELY. FACT. There is nothing in JC 's resume that indicates he would stand a snowballs chance in hell against Ezzard. But hey, cheers to your delusion:lol:. You want a Brit that stands a chance against Ezzard? Take a look at Ruby Robert Fitsimmons.

I wouldn't give Ruby much of a chance against Ezzard.

:lol:.Calzaghe was a terrific fighter, but he couldn't stop a shot to **** Roy Jones, who had been stopped by feather fisted Glen Johnson YEARS BEFORE he and Calzaghe fought:lol::lol::lol:
