I think Cornish could beat Hughie no question , they have shared a few opponents and Cornish has KO'd guys Fury beat on points , further more there is no better time to get Hughie than now if he has'nt fully grown into a heavyweight Cornish all day by KO
Mate that's a biased opinion. I would want Gary to win but most will tell you that fighting Hughie would be crazy.. Styles make fights Hughie was fighting every month takes a bit out of you especially being a 18 year old kid.. I agree now might be Gary's only chance but Hughie is just too skillful he would win by stoppage unfortunately.. I know Tommy would not risk anyone like that like I said got to be patient with Gary the British title is his goal I hope he gets there.. The lads Joshua and Fury they will be World Level.
Its not really biased it just my opinion that Cornish beats Hughie if they fight, i dont believe any of the guys mentioned are World Class and that includes Joshua who i believe will fall short , of course i may be horribly wrong but thats life !
Gary isn't ready for Fury yet mate he would get stopped and put his career back badly, hes plodding along doing ok against guys he should be doing ok against
Cornish is limited and offers nothing to the heavies. Billy is just being kind to him in his above statement.
Cornish has improved a lot more than I expected. He possibly has a British Title in him!! Maybe even European depending on how well he is managed. I think he needs another 5 learning fights before he goes near the British title. That's another year to keep learning the trade and getting good quality sparring as well.. If he is put in with Joshua or Fury his career will be 10 steps backwards.. Why is everyone in such a rush with him..
Ok maybe i did put the cart before the horse so to speak , i guess its just a bit of fan frustration and the fact that we are not seeing him on many shows, hopefully as you say the next 5 fights can improve his technical ability and skill then we can see some good domestic match ups , ill be patient :rasta
Don't agree that that's how we should judge who wins a fight at all. Styles make fights, some hit harder than others etc so it's silly to judge it like that.
Thats because 2 years ago he had 2 years less development. Why anyone, and there are many, would make a long term assessment on a fighters future given the limited man hours a novice has accrued in the game has always been a source of bemusement to me. It's Garys potential which has been identified and it is that potential he has been developing into fighting ability. Even now he is 50% of the fighter he will become. He is improving all of the time. Could be a bit busier so far this year but all is in hand. Stronger, faster, fitter, smarter. Stay tuned.
I agree 100%. Like I said 2 years ago I felt he didn't have the Talent. Now I think he may well do. He is improving fast. I would of said 2 years ago he wouldn't of got near a British title. I actually now think he will be British Champ.. He just need to keep developing ignore the people moaning about the level of opponents the goal is the British title. He's still young plenty of time the. After that you never know... I am a converted fan now
Looks like we will see Cornish finally take on a decent boxer in S*xton. I think this may well be the making or breaking of him. Sam hits hard for a wee lad and quite skillful. i wonder if cornish's reach will be enough?
