How do you guys see this one playing out between two of the better middleweights of the 90's and in my view of all time. This hypothetical match up takes place at both fighters peaks James Toney of 1993-94 and Hopkins of the late 90's early 2000's.
Close fight. But i see Hopkins winning a decision, Toney was damn good, i just think Hopkins was better and more consistent, and came into fights more prepared and in better physical condition..
I agree with this, but Hopkins consistency and intelligence and coming in 100 percent made him give the best he always could which is why he can still win at 49. James was the story of inconsistency, yet great skills. The greater fighter is Bernard by far. Bernard is the story of how consistency gets a guy greatness.
Julian Jackson dropped him like a hot log.....prime Hokins and Toney would hurt this dude....he beat a old Leonard I think people really has gotten that confused....he matches up historically with most fighters under 160 but damn sure not elite Middles....he was barely 5'8....lol
neither one is elite what the hell is the matter with u Hopkins was outboxed by your typical contender J. Taylor - twice him. Jones outboxed him with ONE HAND! and Daniels went the distance, the same Carl Daniels who was blasted by Norris in 1992 Terry with his speed would murder the bum, and Toney too
Floyd is now four years older than Ray was when Terry whipped him but u never mention it so no, people have not gotten that confused what's more, u couldnt find one person on the planet that picked Sugar to lose. Norris was just that good that he could win and make it look easy
