Maidana won't do any better in a rematch, that in my opinion was his best effort, Floyd was on his D game and still won by at least 2 or 3 rounds

If maidana increases his work rate and overall stamina, definitely doable in a year than he can make a significant difference in the next fight.

Mayweather will probably train like a maniac too but his body must be breaking down from a 20 year career. Despite the defense, he has been taking shots practically his whole life. It could be beginning to now take its toll.

Rematch will be really good. Then if he wins hopefully Pacquiao for his final fight.

With his normal gloves he will do significantly better.

I agree, Floyd is getting younger.

Did that look like Floyd's best to you? He clearly had an injured left arm and I wouldn't be surprised if he hurt his hands as well

It's not injuries bro. It's his age. It's the beginning of the end.. He will NOT improve after this fight and is only looking down.. sorry to say. He has no legs now. He can try to act all he wants on how he fought on the ropes to keep the fight exciting but the truth is he can't move around like he used to.

And how good is he suppose to be at 37? I saw a few things tonight that hurthim before the fight. 1. The weight, 148 was too light, Maidana used that 163 weight advantage by laying, pushing, and rough housing. 2. I think Floyd hurt his left arm early, result of Maidana hyperextending it in a clinch. 3. Floyd had a lot of distractions heading into this fight, won't getinto them here 4. He still won fair and square, at some point Floyd should get his credit for constantly defeating bigger, heavier, stronger opponents

why the f was floyd on his d game? maidana just had a style that bothered floyd. but maidana is not that good anyway, let floyd fight better fighters, dont mind a rematch just not right away. i had it a draw or close win for maidana

Disagree. In rounds 7-10 he slowed down a bit and let Floyd get back into the fight. If he could have kept throwing those punches and weird angles all fight and bobbed and weaved he could have taken those rounds and stayed ahead. By making it a rough fight, he didn't let Floyd have his 3 or 4 nice clean punches that land in center ring. Rounds 7-10 Floyd started landing his usual flashy punches here and there. What really gave Maidana the early rounds was that he was smothering Floyd and not letting Floyd get off those overhand rights.

Floyd looked as "gun shy" as I've seen him in the rounds he was "gun shy" in for years. Ever, even? The problem for Maidana is that he lost most of those rounds too, haha...

Mayweather looked great when he finally stayed off the ropes and had gotten Maidana to gas in the final 4 rounds. Rounds 9-12 were solid and needed statements for him, sweeping all of them.

    What?

    Mayweather won 9-12 for sure.

    He won 2, 3, and 4.

And he won two out of the following rounds: 6, 7, or 8 (I just forget exactly which one; pretty sure it was 8 though).

    117-111 Mayweather is my score

116-112 Mayweather is good to me because I expect most people to get suckered into thinking Maidana deserved one of the others based on some flurrying and lack of activity.

115-113 Mayweather seems like you are valuing activity, regardless of connecting, more than you should.

Anything wider than that is straight bias judging on ones' own criteria; ignoring of how fights are to be judged.

People like guys who throw the most punches. They don't care about how pro boxing is judged, either.
