I think the time is now. For me Mayweather lost last night but the fact is neither him or Pacquiao are getting any younger.

In a few years, if not already Porter and Thurman will both have too much for them.

I think every honest boxing fan can agree that Mayweather and Pacquiao are the greatest of their eras and now is the perfect time to settle it and see who is better between the two.

As I said before the fight, anyone claiming Floyd was the best ever was delusional - he's a talented fighter but he's not in that category. Hopefully this will give some people some perspective although I doubt it somehow.

Both fighters fought hard for 12 rounds, and they both deserve credit for that. Fans so easily ignore the fact that Mayweather is 37 and faced a relentless world class fighter in his absolute prime who had a 17 pound weight advantage. It seems to me that if Robinson-LaMotta 6 took place today, ppl on this forum would say "LaMotta had 14 losses coming in and was totally weight drained. Joke fight" or some such BS.

BTW, i don't remember anybody calling Naazim Richardson a drama queen for protesting against the hand wraps of first Trinidad, and later Margarito.

yes now is the time, and it was in 2009-2011 as well. What a waste of an era defining moment.

Wait there what about the bs triangular theory of Mayweather beating Marquez thus being better than Pacquiao. I want to see the fight to see who will win.

to be honest, I wouldn't care who won right now
they both deserve criticism for not making the fight when everyone was hot for it 4 years ago - and their legacy should reflect that

Anyway the point of this thread is that everytime a heavily favoured fighter has more trouble than expected, too many ppl always focus on talking **** about how overhyped the favourite was, rather than just being happy that they saw an exciting, competitive fight like they always say they want too.

Mosley and Floyd are two different dudes though. Shane is a non threatening African America male with blue eyes who smiles all the time for the cameras. He was always accepted more than Floyd despite the fact that people even think he has done roids and Floyd is known as clean (as far as we know). Charming fighters who may have cheated get more leeway than arrogant clean fighters. Look at how dismissive and nonchalant people are about the possibility of Pac begin on Alex Ariza's roids, Pac has charisma but if some hated fighter were accused of roids people would burn him at the stakes. So that's why no one complained when Mosley's camp went off on Margo.

It has been for 4 years. In terms of hype though, let Floyd beat Khan who has a somewhat similar style to Pac, and Pac beat Broner who has a similar style to Floyd.

A ****** c ock sucking ***** can't accept the fact that Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr got his ass whooped! His face tells the whole story.

The fact that Floyd threw only 400 punches vs Maidaina 800 punches. Look at how much power punches he Maidana landed vs Joy Jr. :deal How sad!

Please don't compare the margarito's wrap and Maidana's gloves. That's pathetic. Cherry picking almost went wrong.
