It's this idea that Khan fans have that suddenly he is now deserving of a Mayweather fight. **** right off. I like Amir but he has a lot to prove before facing Floyd.
He put a beating on Molina who stood in front of broner for 12 rounds He beat Diaz a smart and tricky veteran who before he got injured started to figure out thurman Smashed Collazo to a bloody pulp So I think he deserves a shot over porter or brook which the original discussion was about :good
1, Broner v Molina was over 10. 2. Getting rocked in the first round, put down in the second, getting a beating and your ribs broke in the third and then quitting is hardly figuring out my good man. Also Diaz had Khan on shaky legs more than once throughout their fight. 3. Yes he looked impressive against Collazo, but Collazo came in fighting like a novice with no apparent gameplan except to land one big punch. Porter has beaten Diaz, Alexander and Malignaggi in his last three fights and looked bloody impressive doing it. Porter deserves it over Khan, but of course Khan over Brook.
I've only seen a handful of people saying he now deserves it. Anyway, it doesn't seem like you need to do a huge amount to get a Floyd fight judging by his recent opponents. Apparently Collazo was ranked #2 by the WBA and Khan just won the WBC silver belt and is ranked #2 by them so I don't think Khan has to do a whole lot more. Floyd gave the public a choice between Khan and Maidana last time so Amir was obviously close to getting the fight already.
All that shows is two things: 1) Rankings are a joke 2) Floyd is a ducker who is desperate to protect his '0'.
So you agree Khan over Brook Then you say Porter over Khan, is that the same porter who went the distance twice with the same diaz who khan beat. The porter who most say lost the first diaz fight then went on to ko a boxing commentator
Your missing the point. Porter looked more convincing than Khan did beating Diaz. Plus Malignaggi was coming off the good performance against Broner and Porter walked through him. The same boxing commentator who Khan took 11 rounds to stop. This is nitpicking though. The real reason is Porters victory over Alexander, plus the fact he's not been put on ***** street in nearly every fight he's in. Outside of Collazo when has Khan looked convincing of late?
I can see your point would like to see porter vs khan later this year with the winner to fight Mayweather in 2015. Throw thurman in the mix and we have some exciting match ups
Maybe khan will fight brook vs porter winner in dec for the title then floyd next year in a unification
