Stamina. If Canelo had proper stamina and workrate, he would have beat Floyd up. However, Canelo is very limited physically (low stamina, short arms) and he was forced to drain to a point that he needed an IV.

 

I know but since the day this fight was announced there was thread of after thread of "Maidana is made for Floyd", "Maidana won't land a thing, won't win a single round etc." Whereas before to the Canelo I remember a lot of threads with people saying he will be the man to beat Floyd.

 

I think the fighters should not go on promotional tours together. That is where they talk dancing.

Canelo is a boxer puncher. Maidana fights like a psycho

 

Mindset. Maidana didn't give a fuuck. Canelo is all about being the next big thing, hero, star, PPV fighter, etc. So he felt like he needed to outbox Floyd instead of just go in and make it ugly. Maidana did what he had to do because he had nothing to lose.

 

Maidana also likes to track people down and bash them up. Alvarez needs an opponent to stand still in front of him. He is a heavybag fighter.

 

I don't recall seeing many threads saying Canelo would win.

 

Styles make fights. Prime mayorga would have fought the same way and he was bigger than maidana.
