Has khan actually learnt any new defensive skills?

Was it me or did khan not do anything different other than not get into a wild exchange with Collazo?

We know he has fast hands
    He throws blinding combos
Hes knocked down fighters before with his speed as well as body punching

But on the defensive side of thing:

He still grabbing opponents by the head/arm after throwing wild punches
deducted points again for excessive grabbing
covers his face with both gloves when cornered and eats punches
    lack of head movement
gloves dont stay up leaving gaps for counter

Just whay i observed watching him last night. I thought he would have showed a bit more in terms of defensive strategy other that grabbing his opponent by the head & arm.

I'm a big Amir Khan fan and was hoping to see a new improved Amir but I think he was just the same unfortunately. He still looks vulnerable when he's pressured and has no real movement when he's being walked down. When someone is walking Pac down he has the movement to get himself out of a defensive position into an attacking one in the blink of an eye but Khan's only answer is to throw a combo or push and after he's done that he's still in the same position he was before.

Using the ring more, not sticking both his hands up in front of his face and get pummeled in that shitty peekaboo defence he used to do. Holding the arm when close up to frustrate opponents, there's more but... **** man I'm still tired great night mad props to Khan :good

Ducking and spinning out of the ropes. Not standing in one place with his hands up taking shots. Using every inch of the ring. Picking his spots when attacking. Using a variety of combos. I would say he has improved in all areas also he seems like he could take a shot better. I still think he is a devastating body puncher which people fail to realise.

Good and better performance more diciplined. But he holds too much and that cost him the peterson fight and may cost him another fight. Still needs to learn to fight on inside and use body shots more he works great to the body when he wants to. His lcak of power and not sitting down on punches may haunt him against top ww, collazo in not top 10 but top 20

Tbh I think he looked good the main thing is after every corner he would either spin out or hold, even though he holding was abit too much it was a smart thing to do and makes him even more awkward

He would have to go in against a decent opponent to actually tell. Still looks the same old to me.

Oh please, you and 80% of this forum were tipping Khan to take a lavish beating. Schooled from rounds 1 - 12 :hi:

Porter would beat Khan. He'd get on the inside and rough Khan up.

I just watched it, he looked good. Improved in a lot of areas as others have highlighted. Some just want to demean his win now saying collazo isnt top ww only in top 20, beforehand most were saying he would get KO, rubbish nonsense as always from khan haters.

    he has improved

and i expect him to look better in his next fight

he was looking very andre ward like in there... stance is similar...

improvements i saw and were very effective

bending knees/ducking under punches<--- ward does it... makes opponent look foolish and it is better than jumping up and down with your head upright in straigt lines

holding the opponents arm to make it harder for the opponent on the inside <--- floyd does it, andre ward does it

doing a flurry of combos and getting out of range <-- reminded me of pacman vs rios and how pacman kept getting out of range after quick combos

really needs to work more on his body shots and make that his primary weapon... quit the head hunting all the time... he has hurt so many guys with the left hook to the body

Khan has improved a lot, this is really his first fight back, his last fight he did not have time to improve, but this time he looked good.
