After last nights creation of an exciting performance, many fair weather boxing fans actually believes that Maidana has a chance against Mayweather in a rematch.

If a rematch happens later this year, how will last night's event affect the rematch PPV buys and live gate?

This is was the fight that scared the sh*t out of Mayweather Sr and Jr.

 

Last night, Mayweather fought that style of fight just for fans like you farmy.
Fans that hate him and want to believe that there is someone out there who can have a chance to make you happy by beating him.
Mayweather knows that by creating this opponent and giving you false hope that come September in a rematch, you will spend good money to buy the PPV or live gate. :yep
I expect the numbers for this event to be large, and I expect the numbers for a rematch to be significantly larger.

That why he sounded like a little ***** at the post fight conference and had to get his Money Team up there to help him get rid of the prepubescent wimp tone in his voice after he got roughed up? I guess he planned that too.

If Floyd were trying to make it exciting, why did he clinch for 10 seconds after Weeks yelled BREAK? Why did Weeks have to literally pull them apart so many times?

Floyd is never going to fight in a way that puts him at a disadvantage to appease fans. He hasn't done that. It's the exact opposite of who he is. Every single thing Floyd does is done to maximize his chances of winning.

The truth is Maidana pushed Floyd. He pushed him more than anyone since JLC. It was a very good fight and we haven't seen Floyd struggle like that in a long time. It was a good effort by both sides.

 

Floyd himself has embraced the acronym TBE. The best elbow.

It's funny that certain fighters dirty tactics get so much coverage; Hopkins headbutts, Bradley headbutts, Wlad clinches.

No one really talks about what a devastating weapon Floyd's elbow is.

Maidana is wild and also, dirty.

Floyd wanted to make it exciting, but that doesn't include head butts (Maidana used them), low blows (Maidana used them) or getting hit on a break (Maidana did it).

A good head butt followed by a wild looping right to the head can disrupt a well planned marketing strategy.

Did you notice that Floyd's father and uncle weren't giving him much advice in the corner as they normally do?
