Corley is not featherfisted, ask Cotto who spent an entire round punch drunk against Corley

De La Hoya took a few shots at Floyd’s unbeaten record.

“I watched several fights again and Floyd should be 43-3,” he tweeted. “You have to realize that records don’t mean anything in today’s world. Don’t forget Julio Cesar Chavez was 87-0 before he lost his first. You never ever hear Julio Cesar Chavez saying he’s the best ever, and he was 87-0 before he lost.”

A few hours later Oscar added, “Please don’t forget that I had a rematch clause for one year and he decided to retire for one year and one day.”

Maidana didn't land the harder blows mostly of what you thought he landed was either punches in the back of the head or hit shoulders and elbows. PBF landed the cleaner and harder punches.

BTW I never believed he was the best ever. I believe he's the best of this era and a will retire a top 15 to 20 ATG.

Yea, falls short facing real ATGs like Oscar, Trinidad and Mosley. Those 3 would have ripped this version of Floyd apart.

I see Oscar has had another relapse. He thinks he beat Mayweather also.

Evidence, just look at Floyds face. He was damaged way more than Maidana.
Floyd did land the cleaner punches, yes, but Maidana landed the harder punches.

Maidana won he was the one landing the telling blows evidently you have not watched the fight...

Also maidana was the guy who was pressing the action so he deserves to get even more credit.

Lennox Lewis was knocked out by 2 B level fighters. Ali had a very tough fight with a B level guy in his prime and lost to a Leon Spinks who had all of 7 pro fights when Ali was a little younger than Mayweather. Sugar Ray Robinson struggled with a B level guy in his prime. Sugar Ray Leonard had a tought time with Kevin Howard. Hopkins lost twice to Jermaine Taylor. This is boxing, every fight is not going to be easy. Maidana presented Mayweather with a tough style and, and had 17 lbs. on Mayweather. Mayweather won the fight.

I think Floyd is an excellent fighter that I think would have made it in any era, and theres many fighters and divisions today that I dont think would have been in todays era. I think MW, SMW and LHW is very short of the previous era.
I am not sure Floyd would have been as successful in the WW era with Oscar, Trinidad, Whittaker, Quartey, but thats not to say he wouldnt have been and he could have stopped at LWW and dominated.
To cut it short, I think Maidana did a few things different to the norm of Floyds recent opponents, in that he wasnt discouraged when he took a shot and his footwork was a big factor as well as his body shots.
I expect Floyd can do things different if they fought again
