It is natural to identify with your own but I feel I escape that largely by cheering for the American regardless of skin color. Of course that reveals another type of bias but I try not to let that influence my scorecard. But often I decide who to cheer for as the fight progresses because one boxer is fighting dirty or the underdog is really working hard or some similar reason.
