No one seems to be giving much attention to two big upcoming fights for our domestic middles - wonder why the lack of interest?

Because Macklin pretends to be Irish and isn't that good.

Murray was with an awful promoter and then chose to move to an utterly irrelevant one.

Macklin being Irish shouldnt be a problem - huge interest among English fans in Irish boxers - just look at Carl Frampton, English fans cant get enough of him, yet they overlook their own man Scott Quigg?

Murray is probably Irish too (the clue is in the name), and there used to be huge interest in him a year or two back. Nobody objected to his Irish roots then, so why now?

    Keep telling yourself that Len.

Carl's so popular he ended up having to fight on BoxNation.

I realise your head is up Carl's arse, but believe me, nobody in England is talking about Carl.

    What about Martin Murray?

No interest in him anymore, poor chap.
Maybe he should re-brand himself as "Irish" Martin Murray to get more support eh?

How can you talk about someone who isn't getting the fights their talents deserve? He beat Martinez in my view and should have been in a position to push on but hasn't due to poor promoters.

He is to blame for his latest move.

Well he could promote himself as "Irish".
"Irish" Martin Murray - its got a nice ring to it dont you think?
Irish boxers get huge support all over UK.

Cant say it would work for Scott, with a moniker like 'Quigg' but it might be worth a try for him too. For all his talent he cant fill a community hall.

    Oh, you're being a **** as usual.

    Bore off Len.

This is the British forum, go talk about your irrelevant Irish crap elsewhere. There's a good boy.

Who cares he has chosen to be Irish? He could represent Outer Mongolia for all I care, he's still the exact same guy.
I think those 2 guys are the best MW's out there who represented the UK in the last decade. Macklin being the only one who actually beat Sturm (and I really mean only one) but hasn't gotten the nod.
And Murray of course has slain the man himself, also without getting the deserved nod.

Is it the notion neither of these guys have it in them to beat Golovkin that triggered the lack of enthousiasm amongst fans here? :blood

Solaris you really are a total ****, joe you have the nerve to say Maklin isn't that good is unbelievable, the guys been beat by three very good world champions, indeed unlucky against strum.
Maybe you should give it a try son your opinions would soon change

Carl is very popular in the whole of the UK, unlike the English the Irish and Scottish fans get right behind there top talent.
Now don't give me froch v grooves 80,000 coz that's getting promoted out its tits by sky

Surely that's the point Billy. Scott has the backing of Sky, Carl has the backing of erm...no-one.

Unless I'm wrong, Hatton filled 55,000, Haye and Chisora sold out Upton Park etc etc. To say we don't back our top talent is bull****. I am not sure why you have such a chip on your shoulder regarding us English? Can only assume it's jealousy.

In recent memory which Irish or Scottish boxers have done those sorts of numbers?
