    Faster feet

Canelo-Floyd is a good example of how useless fast hands can be, when the opponent's footspeed is vastly superior

For as long as I don't have shitty hand speed (like Margarito handspeed), I'd go for faster feet as well.
It's difficult to take advantage of your hand speed if the opponent is not there to be hit.
On the other hand, if I have god-like footwork coupled with fast feet, I can position myself such that my opponent will consistently hit air.

With my length and reach, handspeed certainly is the way to go.
I don't have to be in perfect position to hit my opponent and he won't be able to just get away from my shots. It's much easier to cut of the ring that way and then a lot of handspeed certainly does the trick.

Faster feet to be honest. Every sport I ever practice footwork is more important than anything you do with your hands. The footwork gives you the right balance and right distance to trow your combos. Footwork importance is subtle so you only fully realize when you have a good level in a certain sport. I play tennis now and footwork is 70% of the game.

If I'm a defensive fighter with good punch resistance or an offensive fighter with poor punch resistance; hand speed.

If I'm an offensive fighter with good punch resistance or a defensive fighter with poor punch resistance; foot speed.

So for me personally (slightly more defensive, decent punch resistance), I'd take hand speed. I always fancy hand speed over foot speed if given an ideal choice.

Once again, to me, foot speed can be both negated easier and compensated for a lack of easier by Ring IQ and decisions compared to hand speed.

I guess the key in all of this is that in order for either to showcase, you need to be well conditioned with good stamina.

"Foot speed" I really think can be worked on and improved more than "hand speed."

Hand speed, at least to me, implies more of a physical ability and is measured physically as opposed to mentally (as in "wow he has quick hands" as opposed to "did he do the right thing choosing to punch there?").

Foot speed in boxing is usually just a direct result of Ring IQ and conditioning. The fighters we view as having fast feet likely aren't any faster with their legs if measured physically among their peers. We'd probably be surprised at who is physically more agile on their feet than seemingly less agile fighters. I think it is judged more by the choice made by the fighter (as in "he was wise to step in and over at that time to cut off the ring from his opponent" as opposed to "doesn't he have quick feet?").

    In my opinion, of course...

in boxing, your primary weapon is your hands...you apply damage solely with your hands...you can use hands to parry shots...

footwork is vital of course...but i prefer throwing punches the eye cant see rather than throwing a punch that can be seen a mile away...

That's about as nail on the head as it can get.
Difference in physical attributes and abilities, as well as ring ability and speed of thought stongly influence the answer here.

It's like the question "would you rather have a iron chin or massive punching power" wich clearly depends on the cicumstances and other attributes.
For instance, if you're from a small boxing country then having a massive chin won't help you much because you'll never ever get the nod in a close fight in wich the chin saves you. You need the punch to avoid the judges' cards.
